Scared of the dark from United States, NV Public Profile
When I saw the adjustable stock and additional magazine storage, I thought it might be a great value at 100 bucks. I was wrong. It looks like a solid, feature rich stock. Looks can be deceiving. The TAC-Hammer stock just feels cheap and flimsy. Its not an "upgrade" from the synthetic Ruger 10/22 stock, its definitely a downgrade. Sure, the mag storage and adjustable stock seem great on paper. In the hand, its functional but feels very light and thin. I dont think it would withstand any kind of rough treatment. It did not give the impression of withstanding any kind of accidental drop. Like so many other products made for the 10/22, the TAC-Hammer strives to match the quality of OEM products. It falls short. I ended up purchasing the Magpul Hunter X-22. Magpul makes a far superior product at the same price point.
I purchased the 1000 lumen model as well, both perfeorm well. Magnetic charging connection can come loose if jostled, not an issue once its all charged up. Lifespan of the charge is underwhelming, I bring battery backups with me to top it off as its used. Solid construction, I accidentally drop tested mine. Laser and light do what they need to do. I would have designed it with two mounting lugs, that being said the clamp holds up well to 12 guage shock and vibration. All in all, a decent value.
Nothing but good things to report. Good build quality, solid (drop tested). Battery life is a little underwhelming but I carry backup battery chargers. Charging connection is a magnetic system that can get disconnected easily when jostled (Come on Holosun, just use USB-C like the rest of the world). Mounting bracket is not as robust as I would expect from a unit as big and heavy as this, I would have used two lugs for tightening/clamping instead of 1. That being said it has not moved or fallen off. All in all, its a bright light and a powerful laser that has done what it advertised.
