Great special purpose QUIET ammo for bolt action rifles & revolvers.

Written on Jul 07, 2025

I shot half the box when it arrived & was amazed at how quiet it was when fired from a .22 bolt action single shot rifle. The loudest sound I heard was the bullet hitting the tin can. Now when fired from a revolver, it was significantly louder, but still fine to shoot without any hearing protection. I'm sure neighbors could tell I was shooting however. At 10 yards, the accuracy was on par with any of my other .22 ammo.
Now, out of the 25 rounds I fired, the 1st round in one of my rifles seemed to leave the barrel even slower than the rest and fell short of the target. I'm not sure if it was a bad round, or if I had left too much oil in the barrwl the last time I cleaned that rifle.
Do NOT try to use this ammo in any kind of semi-auto or anything where the energy from the round works the slide to load the next round. These simply don't have enough energy.
My break berral air rifle sends a .22 pellet at 800+ fps, which is almost twice as fast as this ammo. As I said, this is special purpose ammo, perfect for quiet plinking or training a new shooter who is adverse to loud noises.
I do look forward to checking out the Super Colibri when it is in stock again.
