If like me you’re an avowed cheapskate and struggled to manually retract a delta ring with both hands while removing a hand guard with your other hands, then this tool is for you. The first time you use it you’ll thank yourself for buying it.

Pretty good way to upgrade a basic AR

The UTG hand guard is good way to do away with the clamshell polymer pieces on a carbine length basic AR. You end up with a reasonably good aluminum hand guard (that all in feels like it weighs about the same as, or less than the polymer clamshell parts) that’s far more versatile.
I found that the finish, whatever it’s called, is better than expected. The product design and use of M-Lok sections are both useful and visually pleasing. The fit onto the rifle was a bit more troublesome than expected, but I jut pulled up my Poor-Man-Pants and made it work. Be patient and have a delta ring compression tool.
