Although the new strike eagle (1-8) is out, don't hesitate to pick the 1-6 up for a good discount. Have been to the range with it out to three hundred yards. Up to two was fairly good. I'm just a casual shooter. On the one hog hunt it was taken on, I had added the throw lever to it and it really shined up to the 100 yard mark. Quick and easy to get on target. My wife and a buddy however felt that the reticle was to "busy". With my sooting ability, I'm sure with more range time I could get the handle of it at three hundred. For target practice and hogs I am happy with the purchase and especially the deal I received from optics planet.
