Trijicon is my first choice for night sights
Written on Jan 23, 2017
Trijicon = quality, reliability, performance and USA made. I purchased this set to replace the Trijicon set already on my Glock 17. Why? I needed a set to install on my SIRT 110 training pistol so I could train with night sights rather than the terrible black plastic sights the SIRT training pistol comes with. The rear sight of the older Trijicon set that I had on my Glock 17 had a sloped rear face. The newer model I just purchased has a rear face which is 90 degrees to the slide. This is very important as this allows for a one handed rack of the slide using the pant pocket or belt to hook the rear of the rear sight. So the new set went on my Glock and the old set went on my SIRT. You can't do a one hand rack with the sloped rear sight but then the slide on the SIRT doesn't move anyway. Know that the removal or installation of this type of press fit sight involves some fitting and requires the use of a sight pusher tool or a gunsmith for proper undamaged installation.

Best defensive flashlight available bar none
Written on Dec 12, 2016
You can't go wrong with the Surefire brand. Of course cost is an issue but this is a USA made product of the highest quality. If at all possible, save and sacrifice if a defensive flashlight is what you are looking for. Surefire and Optics Planet both occasionally offer 20% off this model. I've been carrying the E2D model for some time and bought this one for the wife's smaller hands.

The defensive flashlight to carry if you can afford it
Written on Feb 10, 2016
This is a precision, well engineered and well made American product. Its main purpose is to be carried as a defensive tool. It's 500 Lumen output is blindingly bright and it's 5 Lumen output is useful for finding keyholes and general maneuvering in the dark while conserving battery power. It's crenelated bezel and tail cap make it a superb striking tool providing you know how to use it as such. This feature could get you in trouble with airport security so if traveling, put it in your luggage rather than attempting to carry it onto the airplane. The clip allows for a wide variety of carry options in either head up or down position. The one drawback of this unit is its price. It is expensive and probably out of reach for many looking to carry a tactical flashlight. With that being said, beware of anyone selling this under $200.00 as it is more than likely counterfeit. Definitely worth saving your nickels and dimes for.
