My third one

Written on Feb 07, 2020

I have three Rise Armament triggers, two of which are the RA-140. I love them all. The trigger doesn't move, you just add pressure until it breaks. No staging, no creep, just a clean break with no over travel. Reset is incredibly short as well. I've seen some reviews say that it doesn't come in exactly at the listed 3.5 lbs and I've not tested mine but it's such a great trigger that even if it is over 3.5 lbs then I don't care. It's so good I don't even notice.

Nice and simple

It installs easily and works great. I paired it with a Hogue A2 fixed buttstock and it's a perfect match. I think that combo will be my new go-to for any new build. This kit doesn't come with the stock installation screw, but the stock should. The Hogue did, anyway.

super clean, super simple

Written on Feb 07, 2020

I love this thing. Instead of having adjustable stocks and buffer tubes this may be my new go-to stock. It's super comfortable and looks clean. The colors are also exactly what they look like in the pictures. I was hoping to have a brighter red shade in the lava burst color, but it came in looking exactly like the picture so I can't complain. Would definitely buy another one.

Absolutely fantastic

Written on Feb 07, 2020

I love this thing. It's the best ambi mag release I've tried to date. The lever works great and makes it so much easier to actuate and drop the mags free. The only issue I ran into is it doesn't play nice with the Geissele maritime bolt catch, since the larger bolt catch will run into the lever on the Leapers. Works fantastic with other bolt catches though. I also chose not to put the face plate on the right side mag release because I thought it was a bit much, but that's personal preference. I'll definitely buy another one of these.

Be careful about ambi mag releases

Written on Feb 07, 2020

I have two of these on two different lowers and they're great, but you have to be careful about which ambi mag release you use. If you get one that sits close to flush like a right handed release, you'll be fine. If you get something with a lever on it like the Leapers ambi release, then they'll run into each other and the bolt catch won't work.

Terrible BCG

Written on Feb 07, 2020

I bought this because I've heard good things about Aero Precision. Put it in my 5.56 rifle build and the gun won't feed half the time. Tried everything and finally switched just the carrier to my 6.5 Grendel rifle. Then THAT one started not feeding. Talked to Aero, they sent me a new one that has the exact same issue. If you're looking to set fire to $100, then by all means buy this BCG. If you want something that actually works, avoid the phosphate coated one like the plague.

NO SAFETY DETENT OR SPRING

Written on Jan 25, 2020

I'm sure it works as a safety selector, but I wouldn't know because I can't install it since it DIDN'T COME WITH THE PARTS IT SAID IT SHOULD HAVE. All it came with was an allen wrench for some reason.

CAN'T EVEN INSTALL IT

Written on Aug 12, 2018

When I went to take out the one retaining screw so I could unscrew the barrel nut and actually install the hand guard, the retaining screw was stuck in there so badly I stripped it trying to get it out! I've tried all manner of ways to fix it, including heating it up with a propane torch to see if the metals expanding at different rates would break it loose. I've emailed the company to see about swapping it for a new one, but seeing how Radical Firearms let this one out the door in the first place has forever deterred me from buying anything they make ever again.
