We have these Leupold STD one piece bases on two 10/22s and both are solid. However, one base had screws that would quickly loosen even though they had blue thread locker applied. The screws wouldn't work with either 10/22, which made shooting the rifle the mount was for accurately and precisely virtually impossible. The solution was to find different screws for the mount from my gunsmithing can of extra parts. So far so good. The rifle and mount is solid now and it shoots accurately.
So I can give a tentative three star so long as buyers know that they may have to do a little work to make the weapon system work as intended.
Bought these rings along with a Leupold 10/22 mount because of previous experience with the same setup but on a different 10/22. The rings are easy to install with the Leupold wrench and are rock solid. The included installation screws came with blue thread locker. I purchased the medium height, which worked perfect with a 40mm objective scope (about 4mm of space between the bottom of the scope and barrel). They've stayed rock solid on both 22s after a few drops while cleaning and misplacement on a gun rack. Fairly confident in their ability to last and solidly hold the scope for a long time.
Was attracted to Bushnell's spec of 6" eye relief for my son's Ruger 10/22. I grew up on Bushnell scopes and remembered having trouble viewing the reticle because of the rifle stock being too long at the time. Actually, I still have that Bushnell scope and it's in great shape. Has to be 30+ years old.
The new Bushnell banner is as good quality wise or better, with a crisp and clear lens and reticle, and definite points of articulation that don't require looking at to know what you're doing. The 6" eye relief is incredibly helpful for young shooters and made range days much more fun for the both of us. Having a tool that's more fitting for my son gives him the ability to hit the targets easier and more reliably. Plus, having more clear and crisp lens helps a bit as well.
We had some issues zeroing but that was because of the Leupold scope mount screws that wouldn't hold the mount solidly in place. Modified the previous screws to fit the Leupold mount and it's solid now. Scope is zero'd at 75 yards and he hits a 2" steel target at that range reliably.
I'd recommend this scope to anyone with smaller body frames and want a quality scope at a good value. Time will tell, but if the Banner's apparent quality is as good as my old Sportview, then my son will have this scope for a long time as well. Hopefully, he'll give it to his son when it's time.
Granted my shooting experience is not wide or deep as I'd like but I've looked through all of the higher end brands and this model of the Nightforce line was more clear, crisp, and bright than its competition. The ZeroStop function was simple to use and the varying intensity of the illuminated reticle is a really nice feature. Was hitting 300-700 yard targets right out of the box in decent winds. It does carry some heft but that's part of the price for quality construction. Considering its performance ability and cost, I'm a bit surprised that NF doesn't include a bubble level or a better cleaning kit. If NF's other scopes have the same quality and performance, then they've got a customer for life here.
