It’s definitely one of the coolest looking stocks for the Mini 14. Well made, easy to install and a very comfortable folding stock, and it’s lighter than the ATI tactical folding stock. However there are some things about it that I don’t like. First is having a hard time getting the Thermold magazines out. I can get them in just fine but getting them out I have to be a little more forceful to rock them out and I think it’s the mag well it’s a little smaller and has a slight triangular shape to it. Ruger and metal ProMag magazines are easier to rock out if you’re wondering. Another is when using it while wearing a tactical vest/plate carrier the buttpad sometimes hooks on my vest which is annoying. Despite its downsides I still like it and would recommend it to any Mini 14 owner.

Almost anything is better than the standard charging handle. However this one is just bigger than I thought it would be maybe too big other than that it works fine.

I thought that this would be a easy slide on but no it was a pain to get it on and now since I’m not using the handgaurd that had this I can’t get it out no matter how hard I try I even tried hammering it and I still can’t get it out cause the QD mount and maybe the rail on the handgaurd is damaged. Only way to get it out is by cutting it.

This is my 3rd upper I’ve bought from Range Tool. The first 2 were fine, no problems. This one unlike the other two didn’t have a finish not that it mattered to me I was gonna paint it anyway and when assembling the barrel using a Del Ton barrel and don’t know if it was the barrel or upper but attaching the barrel was really tight where I had to like hammer the barrel in and out of all the uppers I’ve assembled (and I’ve done up to 10 uppers with different uppers) I have never had that problem even with the other 2 Range Tool uppers I had but managed to get the barrel on. And lastly another thing was i needed barrel nut shims again never had that with the others I’ve assembled. I bought this cheap upper just to have an upper that will shoot 22 LR. It’s now assembled but have yet to test fire it but I’m pretty sure once I get to it I think it’ll be fine it’s just a 22 after all. So even though I said no to would I recommend it, but I’ve also had good from Range Tool too which is why I said buy at your own risk.

Got one of these for an upper that I assembled and I’ve probably put through hundreds of not a thousand and it has been reliable. No malfunctions or anything breaking. It just keeps going even when I haven’t cleaned it.

I bought 2 of these, and they seem to just like any other AR upper I’ve bought from different manufacturers. Didn’t see any gauges or anything wrong with it. Parts fit fine didn’t have anything loose or out of spec. Seems like a keeper to me.

The ones I have are the Gen 2 latches and having 2 of them, I think they’re good but there are some downsides. One is that it pokes your belly whether your fat or not the other is that if your wearing a vest (which gets rid of the poking) but it can snag on it. Despite those you can work around them. There have been a couple times especially when I first starting using them have my hand slipped off but now using them for years I don’t remember the last time my hand slipped off while operating the charging handle just worked around it I guess. Overall I do like them and I think they’re a decent replacement of the standard latches. Would I buy it again? Yes.

I bought this to carry n my car when I need to sharpen y knife. Which I use a lot on my job. While I use the rod for sharpening and not the coarse or fine sections cause the rod is fine. So it does sharpen knives but it’s not like super sharp more like a quick fix but I like it for what I need and I can carry it anywhere.

Bought this cause I thought it looked cool and this is the same stock used by the Royal Bermuda Regiment when they adopted the Mini 14. After installing it (which is easy to do), it feels light but makes the gun feel front heavy compared to the traditional stock where it feels more balanced. The support hand area, it flexes a little when griping it hard but it’s not a big deal for me. If you have the 580 series of Mini 14 it will fit on this stock. There’s no slots for installing rails. So overall I think it’s a neat stock.

For the money I paid for this, what could go wrong. Well it doesn’t fit. Normally I would try to fit it but for this, no, I think I would make it worse if I attempt to try. I bought this because I wanted a rail where I could keep my grips on it. What I have for a rail is the Recover Tactical BC2 grip (which is probably a better option) but there were a couple things that I didn’t like about it. So when I saw the FAB Defense rail I thought that this would be better. I was wrong.
