Comp did not fit on the barrel past half a turn. Made me question if the pitch was wrong. After double and triple checking that the thread pitch of the barrel and the comp were the same 1/2x28 according to manufacturer websites, i resorted to running a UNEF tap thru it. Worked like a charm, cleaned out a burr and a bit of the black coating that seemed to be gumming up the threads. Now it goes on smooth and easy. Not loctited so i can swap for supressor
First disappointment is find out this thing is polymer, didnt see that anywhere in the description. I guess the one i had seen in a video which is steel or aluminum is the Gen 2 version. The internal "seal" lip does not fit the contour of the ejection port on an M&P10. i cut away some of the lip with an exacto knife to make it fit, only to realize that the fixed end of the "rod" is also polymer and does not turn nicely in the hole. combined with a weak spring and an overall length that is probably a bit too long for the M&P, the port only opens about 1/3 of the way when you pull the charging handle. Completely useless to me, even with modifications. I could probably cut some of the sides away to make it fit more losely, and maybe smooth up the polymer pin, but not really worth it at this point. too much disappointment. Boo.
The angle of the original mag release lever is not designed for one finger use, so even though this adds surface area for you to actuate it with your trigger finger, it isn't as easy as you might think. Kinda like closing a heavy door by pushing too close to the hinges instead of out by the doorknob. Also, AK mags are not designed to drop away like AR-15 so many argue that you need to use your other hand anyway to pull the mag away. I like this product because it gives an extension to the release and feels nice even with the off hand. And i like the polymer look (compliments the zhukov furniture)
