For the price, should come with all the parts.

Written on Jul 03, 2024

I have used Timney triggers on most of my Ruger rifles. For the price, it’s unreasonable that parts have to be scavenged off of the original assembly. Another issue is that there are no stops on the adjustment. This trigger will fail to reset if the first stage adjustment is turned too far CCW. That being said, it is smooth, with a crisp break.

Pretty good. I like the option to free pivot or lock.

I’ve purchased several of these. My only complaint is that they don’t have any quick detach ability. Of course, if they did I would only have purchased one. Magpul wins more of my money again.

Very sturdy. Definitely minamalist.

Written on Jun 07, 2024

Originally, I had the regular minamalist with the smaller butt pad. I purchased this one to use with longer upppers. The design is deffinitely minamalist. The locking mechanism is sturdy. The movement from folded to open requires a little bit of use before it becomes satisfactorily smooth. By design, it is a bit short and is not adjustable. That is an acceptable concession to the compactness of the design. The slotted design makes a great base structure for building up a paracord cheek rest.

Real Magic!

An amazing device. This is an incredible leap ahead in technology. Everyone should aspire to have one in their range bag. My only complaint is that, for $599, they couldn't include a box or bag to carry this thing in. It's not even offered as an option. There is a solution. I use a Zippered neoprene beer koozie. It holds the Xero C1 perfectly with the tripod attached and folded.

Best underwater detector for salt water.

Written on Aug 02, 2023

Purchased this detector from OP for the great price. I have another Sea Hunter MkII I’ve been using in the USVI for 15 years with fantastic success. I have been considering buying a backup for a while, and OP made it feasible. I’ve found enough gold to pay for 50 of these and have been concerned they will stop making them. Garrett does provide excellent customer service and an affordable option to send detectors in for recalibration and refurbishment, so I have been able to keep my main machine in top condition.

Gold and platinum rings settle in deep on Caribbean sand beaches and you need a PI detector to go deep. I have many detectors now, but this was my first. On the first day I used it, I was living in the USVI and went to a busy beach. There were several vacation detectorists swinging Excaliburs and I had to wait to do my work. 5 rings that day, 4 gold and 1 platinum. The controls are very “analog” but it’s quick and easy to figure out if you’re looking at iron or not. This is not an ergonomic beach detector if you are out of the water. Sure, it will outperform others, but it’s made for underwater. It is the pinnacle of underwater detector design. It comes with enough pieces to customize your shaft configuration. Mount the housing on top of the shaft for underwater one-handed operation. I use many detectors, this is my “if I could only have one”. Of course, now I have 2.

Simply does not work

Written on Dec 04, 2022

This is not my first FA Binary Trigger, but my only PC Charger binary trigger. This trigger does not work in my Ruger PC Charger. The Charger trigger block is plastic. It appears the spring hole guides are drilled into the plastic with much inconsistency. Even the PC-C1 instructions state that the inconsistent depth of the trigger return spring hole may require cutting of the supplied spring. What they don't mention is that the function of the trigger in binary mode is dependent on the drill angle of the safety switch detent spring hole. If the angle of this hole does not meet the spec to which the flat on the FA safety selector was machined, you do not get a trigger assembly that will fire in binary mode, or, conceivably, may not work properly in other modes. I fault FA for not addressing this. The best thing they could do would be to pony-up the extra 5 cents and throw in a couple different safety selector switches so that you could choose which one works with the drill angle of your detent spring. Go ahead and roll the dice to see if your Ruger will work with this.

Dissapointed by poor dedign choices. maybe good for airsoft.

I like Vortex products and usually regret settling for their Crossfire line of products. This purchase was no different. The view through the sight is not what is represented or described. The projector for the dot extends out into the field of view from the 4 o’clock to the 5 o’clock positions. As a result, the view through the sight is not circular. The screws connecting the mount to the sight were stripped and not even set straight on mine. Both mounts that come with the sight are held to the rail by a 5/8 inch tab which is tensioned by a single 1/8 inch screw. This would be an appropriate design for an air soft gun, not for a firearm and not for the price range. These failures in design not only impact the quality of the product but separate it from everything else in its class.
