Needs to be fitted. There is a hole in the accessory that lets it slide over the nonstandard stock “tang”. If it’s not obvious, it also replaces the pistol grip retention nut. There’s play when you torque down the buffer castle nut, so you need to hold your stock center to the rifle while tightening it.
