Boyds prairie hunter sks stock reveiw.

Written on Feb 12, 2026

I recently purchased a numbers matching Russian Tula sks. Rifle was in excellent condition but the stock looked like something they just pulled out of the titanic. So I ordered a new nutmeg stock for it. The wood, laminate and construction of the stock is a piece of art. It’s beautiful and very robust. Took a few hours of patience and self control to fit the stock. Had to remove material and fit. Remove more material and fit. Eventually it went together and it is gorgeous!!! Now it fits like a glove and is way more ergonomic than the original. My sks reminds me of a retro mod hot rod now. I love it.

falke le 6 to 7 months later on a 8 inch barrel 7.62x39 “pistol”

I’ve had mine for at least 6 months or more now. I have it installed on my cmmg banshee mk47 with a 8 inch barrel. It’s a very nice and robust optic. Reticle looks like a eotech reticle. Have at least 500 rounds of 7.62x39 through my “pistol” and optic set up. Holds zero perfect. Actually this setup was the easiest to Zero out of any optic I have to date. Maybe 2 or 3 rounds and I was perfectly zeroed. The kill flash I’m not crazy about, but it easily goes on and off.

kinda disappointed but it does look cool!

Tried the warden at the out door range last weekend on my new Dpms kitty kat in 5.55. Looks really awesome on it but was very disappointed when it came to range time with the warden. Yes I know it’s a 7.5 inch barrel 5.56 and what do I expect!? Well I also brought my Midwest industries blast forwarding device and tried that on the kitty kat while I was there. It was a night and day difference. Even the guys next to me at the range asked what I did because it made the firearm actually tolerable to be around. The bummer about it is the Midwest blastcan cost almost 1/3 the price of the warden. The warden does look really cool on the kitty kat though!
