Used sighting a fixed crimson trace laser on suppressor host (P226). Set, but then rechambering round to check and always nets a different POA, typically arbitrary/multiple +/- 3-5 MOA at 25'ft.
Good for getting on paper, but that is it.
Have to remove optic to replace battery, re-zero necessary. If you have tall or suppressor height sites you may have to remove/replace optic to adjust and lock down wind/elev. adjustments when complete. That would have been unacceptable to me, but knew up front, and have std. height night sights on pistols that this would be used on - so not issue in my application.
There is no adjustable auto shut off or shake awake. Not ideally suited stored for for defensive purposes.
For the price, all this is acceptable to me - I got the like field performance of others that cost $300+ more.
Generally has a low sight line relative to bore axis relationship, but that is also mounting plate/rail dependent.
6MOA Red dot is good for me, sight works as advertised.
Appears stout and quality construction.
Vortex warranty and product support adds value - needed screws, Vortex customer care responded to eml in an hour or so, sent NC and immediately.
Good lever size for me , and with 45Deg throw just that much better. Just keep those small spring/posts for levers captive at install. Hard to find if they leap across your space.
Have Burris FastFire 3 on range/plink pistol & a Trijicon RMR T2 on M16 clone paired w/ ACOG. This FastFire 4 goes on Henry .357 lever. Outside of the necessary defense wake-on-move w/ RMR, the function and service of the FF3 has been equally exceptional and function & features ideal here for general & range toy use at a price that promotes more than one. Hence this FF4. Initial function & experience suggests a review could get 5 stars based upon FF3 experience & what little I know today & how well the multi-reticle flexibility pans out - but it is early yet. Under 100 rounds activity, and all good.
As a compromise device I expected mediocre results in all functions (flash reduction, muzzle brake, etc.) . I performed all functions nicely, a little better than I expected. Fit & Finish spot on. Will try some of VG6 other products in future.
