I added this to a Sightmark Photon XT 4.6. On a pitch black night it adds about 75 yards to what I can see with the scopes IR. The thing I liked the best about it, is the scope uses battery life a little fast if it is turned up to max. I can just turn the scope on, not IR and use the Pulsar. The battery life on it is great and this make the battery life a lot longer on the scope. If I see something way out I can turn the scope IR on and it helps, then turn it back off and go back to just using the Pulsar. The two combined are a great team and the price makes it possible for a old man raising Grandkids able to afford night hunting.
I was looking at night vision scopes when a friend ask me to mount a scope for him. It was a sightmark photon XT with this CJRK mount. He wanted something he could take off and change to other optics easy. I am a old guy and a bit skeptical. I said it would maybe get him close but I did not think it would work as good as they say. I mounted it and sighted it in and before he left he said since I was wanting to buy one to keep his a week and see how I liked it. (Talk about lucky) Well after taking it off and putting it back on 10 times and playing with his scope I ordered the same set up he had. The most I ever had to adjust the zero at 100 yards was 2 clicks but most times it was right on.
Go easy torqueing the top rings. I used 23 lbs. His was fine but I noticed a couple small cracks on mine by the screw holes. I called sightmark and they sent me new rings. I was not sure if it was my screw up because the instructions did not give a torque amount but I was very pleased with the way sightmark handled it.
I ordered 5 days before Christmas. Optics Planet made me a great deal on a combined order of scope, Sightmark mounts and a pulsar X850 IR light to add to scope. It was here earlier than expected, before Christmas.
The scope works great. It does use up batteries pretty fast but with the Pulsar light I figured out a way around that. I just turn the scope on. Not on IR and use the Pulsar light. This works great out to about 120 yards. If I spot something I want to check out better or farther I turn up the Sightmark IR. Then I push the button on scope one more time and go back to just the Pulsar light. I have yet to replace the Pulsar battery and only changed the Sightmark batteries twice since Christmas. I use this every night to look around my chicken house! On the darkest night I have shot a 10 shot group with a 300 BLK that measured 2 1/8 inch from 120 yards. If I take out my two bad trigger pulls it was 1 1/8 inch on a pitch black night. I love it.
When mounting on the Sightmark QD one piece mount I mounted with the same torque as one I mounted for a friend and I noticed a couple of small cracks on the top of the rings. They were still working but I wanted new ones so I called Sightmark and explained what I had done and that I had torqued them to 23 lbs. I said I would buy them if it was my fault but I needed new ones. Three days later I had them in the mail. No charge. This hole package has been one of the best deals and products and service I have seen in many years.
