SOME MEASUREMENTS WOULD HAVE HELPED

Written on Mar 14, 2018

Important detail: 4" long. Also, it is .705" from the bottom of the mount to the bottom of the scope tube, 'so that's what medium height means, here.' I cut 7/8" out of the body of my Adapter, between the 2nd & 3rd rail screws, to get the scope rings to fit between the end bells on my 8.8" scope. The right wrench to use is 3 mm, the one supplied fits pretty loose. Buy little size 4 washers to put under the heads of the rail screws or they will plow right through the holes w/o tightening up on the base. All the screws are a bit under on the diameters & short on the length, I replaced them all with longer s/s 4 mm- 0.7 pitch Pan heads from the hardware store & I had to spin the head diameters down to .260-.265" to fit the scope mount counter bores.
-That being said, my mounts have a true death grip on the Savage 64 dovetail now & the scope's cantilevered
out over the barrel like I intended. If anyone only meant to take just the as-is screws & all & baby it
into place the odds are against them stripping out none & it saying tight.
