Smooth, reliable Nib-X BCG
Written on Feb 02, 2022
Review for
WMD Guns M16/AR-15 Full Auto Bolt Carrier Group (BCG) - NiB-X Nickel Boron w/ Ceramic TopCoat
It runs great so far on my 16" barrel AR, mid-length gas system. Quality components, the Nib-X coating is slick and supposedly can run dry but occasionally I hand coated it with some Hoppe's just for safe measure. Easy to clean and I'll be sticking with WMD and their excellent Nib-X coating from now on.

Excellent light

Light performs as advertised. Plenty of throw to help with target identification at short-medium distances. Able to see reflective eyes of deer across a hillside during a dark misty evening.
So far so great. I mounted the light on the Pic rail just behind a Troy flip up front sight at the front end of a 13" BCM M-Lok handguard, BCM vertical foregrip over a 16" barrel. The light fits just to the left (I'm right-handed, so my support hand can C-clamp the front of the rifle at the perfect spot to thumb-activate the button).
Gets snug enough, leaving only a small gap, close to the handguard and can rotate in just to where the light just touches the front backup iron sight.
The rechargeable battery is weird, it has a charging cable that's too short in my opinion but will work fine charging the battery hanging off a wall socket.
Best with handguards that have a full Picatinny rail on top.

Strong and secure mount
Written on Feb 02, 2022
Got the Lower 1/3 mount for my MRO (which I originally bought with the OEM Trijicon absolute co-witness quick release mount) that sits on my go-to 16" AR build. I had a few issues getting perfectly behind the optic because it sits just a tad bit too low (for me) to get the proper check weld, shooting position, plus there were issues with getting the quick release to mount perfectly. The original adjustment allowed a little play (optic would shake with recoil, movement) and trying to tighten the quick release mount until it was firmly planted made it almost impossible to use the quick release lever. Frustrating.
This MRO mount at the lower 1/3 height has a much more comfortable/ergonomic for me, quick to acquire dot, works well with backup sights up or down, and gets me the most out of the optic.

Quality manufacturing from CMC. Well-designed with the perfect shape and weight balance for the AR. Also, the black nitride coating holds up well. Haven't tried it with a suppressor yet, but supposedly it's "optimized for suppressor use". Worth the price.
