Super precise

Written on Jun 22, 2023

My Hornady match-grade would seat to an average of 2.1 1,000ths run-out this Forster seats better than half that, under a half 1,000th every time. Largely because the Forster holds the case all the way down to the base of the brass to assure the case is perfectly aligned with the projectile before pressing into the neck. This tightened up my sub-MOA's significantly.

Turn your Tikka into a-Tacka

Written on Jun 22, 2023

What an amazing upgrade. The original Tikka T3 stock was light and thin and stable, with a very thin fore-end but it tended to jump and slip under the heavier recoil of the .308 with heavy projectiles. In addition the handle was hardly conducive to precise and steady hold while taking aim. I had the older t3 Lite configuration that did not have the aggressive grip that the .308 needed. However the barrel and action could still produce sub-MOA groups if shot from a bench rest. The GRS changed everything. Adding stability, rigidity and major free float relief, the wider and honeycombed grip points really complimented this action into a very precise match grade hunting machine. The GRS slogan should be "the ultimate Shooting machine." Made in Norway by will seasoned shooters from the Norwegian military and it shows. The gray color is awesome and gives the look of a rifle casting many times more than the affordable Tikka. This stock punches way above its weight. You won't be sorry with this purchase, buy it now before the price catches up to its value!

Buy the barrel made by the manufacturer

Written on Sep 12, 2019

There are many after-market barrels made for this pistol that cost much more than the HK version. But why would you buy one? This is made from the original cannon-grade or ordnance-grade steel that is a proprietary blend of metals that HK will never disclose it's composition of. It seems impossible that a 3rd party could do a better job than the original Mauserwerke could. This is a drop-in polygonal barrel that sits precisely into the HK slide along with the micro-ground feed ramps and the famous and renown Ulmer antler proof stamp adorned on the barrel. In keeping with German law, the serial number is stamped on the side, but not the exposed side. It will no longer match the numbers on the rest of the firearm. This barrel is approximately 3/4th of an inch longer than the standard length so expect that you will achieve about 18% greater velocity. It does NOT come with a thread protector; therefore you must find a 13.5 X 1 LH protector to add to it. HKParts sells a genuine HK version for $25. The thread protector also will fit the threads of a Glock, SIG and Walther and is therefore a European metric or DIN standard thread.

Zeiss Reputation

Written on Jan 25, 2019

Paid $399 for this German Glass, assembled in USA Rifle scope but after a few hundred rounds the ocular lens came loose and rattled and there was a slight occlusion in the sight plane. Maybe it was a lemon, but I really liked the optics. I sent it back the Zeiss for repair and they could not repair it so they sent me a $1,000 HD5 3X15-42 free of charge. What a great company........I'll never buy another brand than Zeiss.

PPS M2 8-Round Magazine

Written on Jan 25, 2019

Since it is not specifically stated in the details, I'll tell you this. This is in fact a real Walther OEM Italian made Mec-Gar magazine. It has the same "made in Italy" stamp in the thin leading edge as do all others. With a little more pinky purchase than it's 7-round cousin, It is the real deal and it arrives in the typical Walther magazine display packaging with the PPS M2 identifier clearly and boldly printed on the packaging. The 6 and 7 round options clearly showed this but the 8-round did not, so I thought that I would answer the mystery that I had until it arrived. Shipping is a little slow, (Fedex Surepost) Packaging is well armored and the tracking was superb. Very pleased with the entire order and at the best price that I could find.

AR mount for 100% co-witness

Written on May 05, 2015

Mounts on AR flat top with dead center co-witness, meaning that iron sights will appear in the center of the scope and the center sight line will be at 2.62" above center bore as is the standard A2 AR sight post. Nice forward front mount to provide proper eye relief and to mount the optic solely on the receiver and not the free float rail. I can still center the scope prizm directly over the junction of the the barrel and the upper to correct for any barrel divergence at zero to infinity. Very lightweight and seemingly durable. A word of caution, be sure that the two securing rails are not inverted and tighten lightly by alternating screws until at the desired torque as will all optic mounts. I wanted the Warne XSkel but they were sold out in 1" diameter. So this was the next best choice. 'still holdin' zero after time and abuse.
