I feel like optics planet is selling these as a "final sale" because they're flawed/out of spec. I've tried this with 2 different handguard caps and they don't sit flush. With molded items like this I assume the mold wore out and isn't in tolerance anymore. Waste of $40. Might bust out the dremel and see if I can shave it down enough to fit.
Way better than I expected.

GrovTec US Standard Thread Protector
This thread protector was well beyond my expectations. Nicer than anyother thread protectors I've see on both pistols and rifles... the knurling is super tacky yet small. I really wish optics planet would let photos get added to reviews.
The VG6 Cage Device does NOT fit this model.

VG6 Precision EPSILON 556SL Muzzle Brake
The written descriptions do not contrast the differences between
Epsilon models clearly enough... I wanted an Epsilon to use specifically with the VG6 Cage Device, got an email that Epsilons were on sale, ordered one without even thinking about it... wasnt until AFTER I got it back from my gunsmith that the two weren't compatible.. I dont think a customer should have to learn about an entire line of muzzle brakes and find the differences themselves; when a simple disclaimer could be put in the description regarding such. Unless you already knew about the regular 556 Epsilon, you wouldn't know what features change between it and the 556SL

Cool product.... but optics planet does not clarify that this does not fit the VG6 Epsilon 556SL... the item itself is top notch, but really wish I wouldn't have wasted so much time finding this out the hard way. You have to read between the lines of the written descriptions for the Epsilon series... Realized this AFTER I had it pinned and welded to the barrel on my rifle.

I have this product on multiple AR's... but this is the first time I've gotten the gray variant... its quite literally 1 shades from black, meanwhile it's about 2 shades from other manufacturer's "grey" equivalents... idk why magpul seems to insist on bucking a universal color (i.e.- coyote tan vs FDE mags) only in this case it's worse.
FDE good match, but roll pin hole not drilled.

One of the roll pin holes wasn't drilled.... had my gunsmith take care of that, something which i probably could've done myself, but still... with the last few Strike Industries products I've gotten it seems like "finish fitting" is becoming a thing... I can't complain with their prices though.(i didnt get mine from opticsplanet)
Not molded too well... a little too tight.

This product is what it is, i have others that didn't have the same problem as this one... Didn't recieve the roll pins to secure it's installation. You can tell the factory mold is getting worn out with this one, the tab that secures the plate to the magazine was out of spec... I have others and this was not a problem with them.. for its price point i can't complain.
Bolt hold open is not too great.

Strike Industries Extended Bolt Catch
I would give this a 3 stars, but I realize not many people really care about the bolt hold (lower half).. I do though, and even though the release portion on this is very nice, the bolt hold open could be a lot more substantial.... the giessele maritime is better, IMO (even though I like the bolt release better on strike industries)
