Rugged and attractive mount at a great price

Written on Apr 24, 2017

Bought the medium height version several months ago (had a different part number at the time but it's the same mount) for use on a .22 lever action rifle. This mount is built like a battleship and is finished very well. The screws are steel with plenty of thread length. I prefer an all-in-one mount for its integrity, and this fills the bill. There is a caveat, however: on the medium mount the clearance between the bottom of the saddles and the top of the base is only a bit more than 1/8-inch. This may create a clearance problem with the bottom of the turret housing on your scope, so check first. You definitely do not want any pressure on the scope at that point. Since then I have used it to mount a Nikon 4X32 Rimfire scope on my rifle. Installation and fit were excellent, and this mount puts the sight plane of the scope almost exactly 1.5 inches above the rifle bore axis - a common default value for ballistics programs.

When sighting in at 50 yards, I was pleasantly surprised to find the very first group partly in the black. A few clicks and a couple more groups put me solidly in the 10 ring. This mount is accurately machined and a great value.

Rugged mount and excellent value

Written on Oct 26, 2015

Recently bought the medium height version for use on a .22 lever action rifle. This mount is built like a battleship and is finished very well. The screws are steel with plenty of thread length for secure fastening. I prefer an all-in-one mount for its integrity, and this fills the bill. As a check on its quality of machining, I temporarily mounted it on the rifle and placed a perfectly straight 5-foot length of aluminum tubing in the saddles. The tube lined up visually perfect with the barrel axis and remained so when I swapped it end-for-end. There is a caveat, however: on the medium mount the clearance between the bottom of the saddles and the top of the base is only a bit more than 1/8-inch. This may create a clearance problem with the bottom of the turret housing on your scope, so check first. You definitely do not want any pressure on the scope at this point. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it remains to seen how it works over time.
