Good News: It fit my Kalashnikov USA KR-103FT 7.62x39mm Rifle 16" with some minor fitment!
Bad News:Just makes the rifle too front heavy after attaching a IR Illuminator not very balancd rifle. If you care for a lightweight rifle, this handguard is not for you!
Opinion: If you use the rifle as a bench shooter then this may fit your application but if you plan to "run and gun", then this may not be your best option!
First of all I want to say that visually, this watch takes me where I want to go! It is heavy duty and the look is Teutonic. I replaced the rubber strap with a aftermarket StrapCode stainless steel Super Engineer band and the looks is killer!
Cons:
This watch is super heavy on your wrist and after some time wearing it (in days) you may experience some wrist pain like I do. I simply rotate alternately wearing it on my other wrist.
I also had to return my watch to Service under warranty to Canada. I think I manually over-winded the mechanism and a spring internally snapped but it was covered under warranty. The warranty service was a straightforward process, mailing it to their Support in New York. They then ship it to Canada for actual repair. It took about a month to get back to me but I think the service actually improved the watch mechanism and I'm glad I sent it in!
Chose the hand-select Green Phosphor option to hopefully get the best unit available in this Gen3 night vision entry level category.
Selected Trybe because their NV PVS-14 was readily available in the current market. Understand that the PVS14 housing amongst the manufacturers are all the same. The image intensifier tube is also common between the manufacturers. The main difference in my opinion is the warranty. So at the end of the day they are all the same as long as you know the specs of the tube beforehand!
For the hand-select green phosphor, I received a tube rated 1820 FOM. It has one medium sized blemish in zone 1 which is tolerable and unnoticeable when in actual use in the field. Halo was at .9 ! Also checked the tube and confirmed it is ELBIT F9815XLSH manufactured 2018.
The included head crusher, filters and strap are cheap. I purchased a Pelican dry box to store it over the flimsy soft case it comes in!
Overall happy with the purchase! Just wished I could rationalize spending another $1000 for white-phosphor!
