I bought one of these for the first AR I ever purchased and it has become one of the first upgrades I do whenever I get a new rifle. I now have five in total. Are there better triggers out there? Probably, but I'd still argue this is going to be one of the best you're going to find, especially for the price. It has a clean, crisp break with no take up and very little creep. After 1000's of rounds I have had exactly zero failures with this thing.
Installation is a breeze seeing as how it is fully assembled and just needs to be dropped in, although you do have to remove the hand grip and safety selector to do that. The anti-walk pins are a nice touch and they do provide the two allen keys required for installation. Overall, this is a great trigger for just over $100. You really cant go wrong with it.
This thing weighs almost nothing, and because it’s magnesium should still be quite durable. I threw this on a .300blk pistol along with an 8.3” barrel, Guntech flash can, and Hera CQR gen2 stock and foregrip. This handguard really finished off the overall appearance. The barrel nut is probably the only downside to this item. Although it’s not terribly difficult to do so, you do have to make sure that you have it properly indexed or the handguard itself will be crooked.
Well, it’s a flash hider. Not sure there is a lot one can say about it; but It does work, appears to be well built, and should be pretty durable. Not sure if the holes are meant to work as a brake or not, but I do think they improve the item’s appearance. It looks a lot better than your standard birdcage at least! I fully expect that it will provide me and my AR with many years of dedicated and faithful service.
I'll admit it.
I'd watched the videos, read the reviews, and still I was a little pessimistic when ordering this item.
Despite typically receiving an item that I am happy with, they don't usually live up to the hype that they get.
The Devil Dog Concepts Hard Charger does, in my opinion anyway.
In time, all of my AR's will be outfitted with a Hard Charger.
As with anything though, your mileage may vary.
From a usability standpoint, this is probably the best upgrade I have done to any of my AR's.
It's built solid, mounts easily, and puts the charge handle in a place where it is extremely easy to manipulate.
Even while shouldered.
