I was actually pleased to see that these actually have (4) screws on the top strap and seem very strong when I received them; however, they aren't perfectly round and are very sharp edged. They have scored my scope tube pretty significantly as I tried to get the scope seated into them. I ended up using a diamond file and radiused the inside of the rings and rounded the points enough to use them, but I'm getting different rings as soon as possible. This image shows a different lever shape than I received also and I really liked what they have if it weren't for the poor concentricity and finishing. I think these are going into the circular file when I get the new ones though.
This is set up for 11mm dovetail supposedly, but is way over sized in the gap, and when you push it together tight enough to grab your dovetail, it still doesn't hold well. The top screw doesn't cause this to clamp down at all. There are tiny fiddly screws on both sides that you have to tighten in place while squeezing it onto the dovetail. Also, in order to actually get enough width to actually hold a picatinny mount in place, you have to almost extend the set screw all the way through as well as marring your receiver where the dovetail is. The first time I got it mounted, it still didn't hold well and popped off while I was torquing the ring screws on top. I had to start all over and I really don't trust it still. So now that my receiver is marred and these aren't working, I think I'm just going to get some good quality dovetail mounts instead. I'd not purchase this again.
I wanted a scope that could withstand the big recoil of my .45-70 government rifle. This has become the perfect ticket for me. It's got a super fine reticle that has had no issue withstanding the recoil. I like the small diameter ocular bell for mounting where I can still see the sights below.
