Does not work, retaining lips on the extension aren't machined well

Written on Sep 28, 2024

Possibly an Incorrect Posting by OP:
I can't tell if the Optics Planet posting is incorrect. Item description says that this extension can be used with g19 magazines. However, the Title has "9/40". I don't have a glock 9 or 40 or even know if they exist.

Reviewed using g17 and g19 magazines:
Retaining lips on the extension aren't designed well. The lips that keep the magazine retained, are machined with an outward taper. This causes the magazine to shift around in the extension. Ruined the basepad lips on 2 of my OEM g19 magazines. The extension ate away at the magazines and after 2 range trips the extension finally worked itself free causing live ammo to come out of the mag. Would not buy again. I know this is either a design flaw or and incorrect posting because I bought 2 and both extensions are the same. Both magazines using these extensions came free at the range as well.

Unfortunately, I believe I am outside of the return period so returning is a no go.

Works for original purpose but has misleading description.

It works perfectly fine if you live in a magazine capacity restrictive state. However, the Product Information states, and I quote, "Compact and subcompact Glock pistol model magazines can be loaded with a convincing number of rounds - i.e. Glock 26: up to 33 rounds.". Unfortunately, this can be understood as I can change the baseplate (in a non-restrictive state) and achieve extended capacity. However, this is not possible. The internals of the magazine (metal lining) does not allow for a new spring to be introduced and is restricted to about half the normal internal spacing. If I could attach a picture I would. Overall, works for the intended purpose but does not allow for any modifications. I checked for normal Glock 17 mags at the time but none are available here and I was foolishly tempted into this venture.

Great Design but not so good durability.

I've had this mount for roughly a month and it has broken at the locking hinge. It was torqued to spec (15lbs) and only managed to survive 3 range trips before one of the locking hinges on one of the rings snappped. If this review allowed for pictures, I'd show some. Unfortunately this mount is not worth the $100+ I spent on it. It was paired with a Primary Arms Classic Series 1-6×24 scope just so you guys know the diameter wasnt larger than it was supposed to be.

Wilson Combat Sig p365 Grip Module

Written on Oct 18, 2023

I got this grip module to improve shot stability. It is much better than the OEM grip for my hand size. For those of us with thick hands, I recommend combining this with the corresponding adhesive stipling from Talon Grips. This combination is perfection for me and my shot groupings have shown it. I will be looking forward to more Wilson Combat products for future projects.
