Best Tool for Quick Builds

Written on Oct 07, 2025

When you absolutely need something easier to install a pivot pin. I can do this without, but it makes it so much easier. Definitely worth the buy if you do builds often. Works for AR10 as well.

Federal ii a trusted brand....

Federal ii a trusted brand....8n ammo
But this particular box/bucket of 22 lr copper plated hoolow point is inconsistent and poorly q.c.'d.
Horrible experiences across the board. Tube fed rifles(Marlin's), magazine fed(Glock and AR), and finally even out of an old revolver. Just inconsistent in feeding and trajectory. Nothing the shot this ammo was consistent in hitting the target. It was all pver the ppace. Multiple people and multiple firearms, all the same results. From 10 yards out to even an easy 100 with a 20 inch barrel. 8 feel ripped off with this ammo bucket, such a waster pf money for a bame brand ammo like Federal. About 2 out of 10 would stray or jam the forearm. Jams were due to the head of the hollow point being so flat. The revolver had some (1 of 50) hammer strikes that didn't go off and at 10 yards would stray left or right and sometimes too high or too low. This is a bad experience for my first bucket purchase. This ammo gets a zero, 0, zilch, nada, nothing out of nothing rating. This is my honest opinion and review based on myself and my friends experiences using this particular ammo. All other Federal ammo, from shotguns shells, to 9mm, 5.56, 7.62x39, 300AAC, and 308 are a much better quality BOX ammo than a bucket.

SLx 3x32 Compact for .30 CAL(7.62x39 or 300AAC)

Written on Sep 19, 2024

This was actually better than expected. Out of the box and onto the rail, I also mounted a Holosun 507C on top. It was zeroed for the distance I meed it to go, which was about 50-100 yards. Learning how to use the ACSS BDC, this sight is awesome. Crispy clear glass magnification suited my needs and having the additional 1x RDS on top made this my go to for a 10.5 inch 300 Blackout build. Quality material, form and functions are ergonomically easy to use. This was one of the best purchases that fulfilled what I wanted to accomplishe. I recommend this specific optic for a 300 Blackout build any time.

Shortys Slugs Are Very Effective...

Written on Jul 13, 2024

My application experience is based on 5 different shotguns. This is a review on my opinion, you will have to test and learn for what works for you.

5 pump actions, mostly Mossbergs with an OpSol Plug, some do not need it. I have 2 that did not need a feed ramp adapter.

Took my 8+1 to 12+1, 6+1 to 9+1, and 5+1 to 7+ 1.

Very accurate, rifling helped stabilize at 50 yards hitting a 12 in gong so hard the gong it never rang so loud even with 220gr 300 AAC.

I have an 18.5, 20, and 24 inch barrels, the longer the barrel the great the distance and accuracy.

These are a must have in your HD ammo supply. Too expensive for Plinking. Beware it can be addictive and you will go through a box of 10 in no time.

Great Combo Putchase

Syntech 147gr is a great round for the range and actually helps clean your barrel. The HydraShok/HST is also a great defense round for EDC.

After several attempts in building an AR9(PCC)...

Written on Feb 25, 2024

This 9mm PCC conversion by CMMG along with many of their variety of AR Caliber conversions, this may seem like the easiest route.

After doing so much research on Blowback9.com, I decided to go with a FM9 Upper Receiver and a standard AR Lower. Let me say the ability to use JHP 147 and 124 (even +P's) was flawless. I practice even with Federal Syntech. There is a difference in the FM9 among other barrels out there, some just don't have yhe angle to provide some sort of feed ramp for a flat or jagged nose HP or Synthetic round. I did not have to break in my barrel either.
I've ised these magazine conversion with PMag M2 and the M3 windowed and non-windowed, no issues. The different lowers I have used are Aero Precision, PSA, and Anderson, standard LPK's and even some with RA140 triggers(non-PCC), all us8ng a standard Carbine B7ffer and even an H2.
Overall I usually get the 3 packs on sale or with a discount code saving me a little, costing me a net of $35 per mag for a Gen/M2 PMag and about $40 for an M3, with an additional $5 for windowed versions.

I am extremely happy with yhis purchase and will continue stocking up on them as the become more available.

A safety reminder, ALWAYS check the BCG when the magazine is out, because the ejector is on yhe magazine and the BCG can hold a round. You don't want an accidental discharge.

At the time I did not recommend this product...but

Written on Feb 24, 2024

In addition to buying these 10-round mags, I also purchased 30-round mags from ASC directly from their website, thinking at the time they weren't available anywhere else.

I had issues with feeding due to burs from poor machining. The followers kept dragging and causing all of the magazines purchased to fail(FTF).
Lubricating the insides had minimal improvement. The issues still occurred, but not as much. Getting frustrated, I tried brass ammo from my good old Russian surplus. It was the same result, but this time, I only had FTF towards the last 2 or 3 rounds when the spring tension loosened up. Again, this was so frustrating and I decided to buy CPD(C Product Defense) Mags aka Duramag. Regardless of the ammo those worked flawlessly with no issues whatsoever.

Over a few months, feeling like I wasted my money on all 10 ASC Mags, I decided to get a hold of someone from there, before either using a Dremel on them, sanding them down, or throwing them away. I explained how all the magazines I bought had the same issue with the FTF at the end of the loaded magazine, provided photos, and videos, they gave me an RMA Number and I sent my 5 10rnd and 5 30rnd mags back for repair. After 2 weeks of follow-up, they replaced all 10 of the magazines with a new batch that was smoother than any of the ones I originally purchased...WTF??Really?!!! They said, they were not repairable and gave me a new version of the 7.62x39 AR Magazines.

I did not recommend this product...but after contact

Purchase more than a few times...

I've bought a few of these here and on BA's website directly when they have a year-end clearance sale for under $100. I have mostly Aero Precision Uppers with BA Barrels as a primary choice. This BCG is and has always been reliable for our useage. Keep it well lubed and it shouldn't have any issues. When Optics Planet has them available and a discount code wotks, i will continue buying these as spare parts, even though they have never failed. Solid material and precise machining, overall great quality for an average price BCG. I've used this on multiple calibers as well, 223/5.56 and 300AAC, no light primer stiled, no FTE and no FTF. Very reliable and a good choice for even a builder.

Much Better Quality and Design than Expected

Written on Dec 27, 2023

I bought this for the ambidextrous feature. After using it I did not realize the intentional design to redirect gas for suppressed uppers. I did not install this on a suppressed upper but it was noticeable on a the reduced gas escaping through the charging handle.

Very happy with this purchase, quality of material is excellent and it is very sturdy, however I cannot attest to durability, as I have not put it through any rigorous abuse. It handles range use and has only seen 25-50 recharges and clearing.

We shall see how it goes for the next few months.

Actually Better Than You May Think

Written on Dec 13, 2023

This has an ambi saftey, textured bolt catch and mag release and a single stage trigger with a 3.5 to 4 pound pull. At this price it is much better than you think, it was about $20 cheaper, in and pre-2020.

What it does not have that I wish they did include, maybe some day, is a buffer kit and buffer tube, castle nut along with a qd plate.
And if it was priced under $100, I'd buy all day long.

Otherwise this is a very solid quality lpk.
