Defective / Inaccurate Objective Bell / Poor Eyebox / The Build & Performance Do Not Match The Price

Written on Feb 28, 2015

I give two stars, one for the appearance design, and the other for the reticle design.

I can only imagine whomever is responsible for “this scope’s” performance does not, or has never used a rifle scope that works as it should.
The first sign of trouble came after setting the eyepiece focus I viewed an object at a measured 50 yard distance, adjusted the objective ring to obtain focus, and it was on the 100+ yard marker and it would vary in repeated attempts. I tested this at various magnifications and it varied and sometimes it would come closer which indicates to me I had a bad copy.

The Eye-box performance is totally unforgiving. You have to align your eyes and head exactly in the side to side & fore and aft positions to keep an clean full field of view while set to the medium to upper magnification ranges. This is the kind of trait I would expect in a cheap-o optic that came with a budget rifle in a combo package.

The resettable turrets.... On one of them the hash marks do not align landing them exactly in between.

The build. It’s a nice looking scope. There is a + / - sticker on the fast focus eyepiece that looks like it will roll up or come off any minute. I guess they forgot adding it on the last minute. Everything else is clearly marked. When you turn the objective ring it can be heard like a fine hiss.

I returned the scope for an exchange fr one at the same price point I know will perform for what it is worth or more. A Leupold VARI-X 1 3-9x40 fixed AO.

Holding Zero on a Xisico BAM B26 .177, So Far So Good After 200 Rounds

Written on Dec 10, 2014

So far so good as its holding up under the air gun recoil of Mike Melick a fully tuned BAM B26. Thats not saying too much as fully tuned air guns are smoother. The BAM B26 is not a magnum.
The optics are clear to the edges in all power ranges.
Illuminated reticle dial can be difficult to turn. You have to grab it pretty firmly.
The Illuminated reticle is unevenly illuminated being brighter on the bottom post most of the time and sometimes to one side.
I use a lesser cost RWS scope with an easier turning dial and very evenly illuminated reticle.
If you catch this one on sale its OK.
Eye relief is not very forgiving at higher powers. I have seen better.
