I have this sling on two carbines and a shotgun, they are versatile and well-made.
Enough padding to make carrying a long gun all day comfortable without adding bulk, and since the padding is sewn into the sling it stays put.
The length adjustment can be done easily with one hand, unlike with a similar sling made by a company that is well known for their rifle magazines and stocks.
I have three of the Silent Captured Buffer Springs, one Gen1 and two Gen2. They operate quietly and don’t bounce or reverberate as much as the stock spring and buffer. You can also remove the pin that normally retains the buffer in the recoil tube since the JP system won’t extend past its designed length.
This is my second Spuhr mount. The quality and durability are outstanding, and I like the ability to mount accessories to them. I added a a base for a red dot to the front top. The included wedge for leveling your scope is also nice and should work with most scopes.
I just replaced an old worn-out custom-fitted set trigger with a TriggerTech two-stage trigger and needed a new set of anti-walk pins. The RISE pins are excellent, they fit perfectly and came with the two well-fitting wrenches required for installation (not all anti-walk pins do).
I just used my Labradar for the first time yesterday and it is everything I had hoped for. It was easy to set up at the range, didn’t have any trouble with .223 bullets (the smallest caliber I shoot), and didn’t miss a single shot. I love the large, easy-to-read screen, the ability to control it from my phone, and the wealth of data it collects for every shot.
The only changes I made after the range session is to increase the timeout of the screen saver from the default of 30 seconds. Since I power the Labradar using a USB powerbank, battery life is no concern so I’m keeping the backlit LCD screen on for 600 seconds.
There was a guy with a Magnetospeed chronograph a few lanes to my left, and he was constantly messing with and adjusting it. My primary reason for going to the range yesterday was to zero a new scope, but I was able to collect chronograph information at the same time, which you can’t do with the Magnetospeed because attaching it to your firearm (really just rifle, since using it with a pistol or shotgun isn’t really practical) will shift the point of impact.
Another consideration for me is that I can use the Labradar at my indoor range, where I wouldn’t be allowed to set up anything forward of the shooting table.
I ordered the Size 3 and Size 5 to replace the non-seethrough covers that came with my Vortex Strike Eagle 1-8x24 scope. The Bushwhackers fit better and more securely than the covers that came with the scope, but unfortunately the Size 3 opens up only about 190 degrees (just past vertical), and the Size 5 has significant optical distortion over half the area of the cover which leaves the scope's reticle a blurry mess -- still usable at 1x magnification for a snap shot, but you can forget about leaving the cover closed and taking a shot at a distant target.
I still think the Bushwhackers are a worthwhile upgrade over the OEM Vortex covers, but after waiting six weeks to receive my order I can't help but be disappointed with what I got.
