Simply a Tank
Written on Mar 18, 2026
Researching which Atlas Bipod is a pain. There are just too many versions.
But if you want a quick detach picatinny mount bipod, with non-rotating legs, and build-in pivot plus cant then get this one.
It is more expensive but as the title says, it is built like a tank.
And like a tank, it comes with some heft to it.

A good balance between build quality and weight.

Review for
Zeiss Ultralight 1913 MS Rings
I put these on my .22LR competition rifle with a 50mm front objective optic. But the rings are sturdy enough that I would be confident putting them on any standard short--action bolt gun such as 6.5 CM or .308. For newer PRC cartridges, I might step up to a heavier, three-screw set of rings.
My build also does double duty as a hunting build so, I wanted something that had competition applications but also saved weight when I'm humping it around for game.
If you want rings for a pure competition application then I would note that the bubble is small. There are other ringed options with a larger bubble but for my use, this was perfect as it snags less than other options when hiking.

Not as useful as I'd hoped

MDT makes quality products, no doubt. This flush fit magazine slides into your rifle like a dream but removing it is a nightmare.
It is functionally, too flush. Too fit.
This three rounder is obviously for hunting and probably backpack hunting because it is so slim and so light.
But the value in a removable magazine, instead of an internal one, is you can REMOVE it.
Removing this mag is annoyingly tough because it sits so flush.
It loses by winning. I kinda don't recommend it.

Well Engineered

Review for
LaRue Tactical Dual QD Lever Picatinny Riser
As a serious “return to zero” 1913 rail, the La Rue is extremely well-engineered. It even comes with a specialty wrench to adjust the bolts.
The one thing that isn’t covered in the Optics Planet description is how tall this item actually is. I think La Rue’s description has this as 5/8” tall. If you’re using this for an optic, you might want to do some measurements first.
