Still tickin'

Written on Jun 29, 2021

While I don't have this particular red dot, I have the Gen 1 Version.
Its seen alot of abuse on my truck gun. Its been frozen, its been hot, its fallen out the back of my truck while moving. It keeps zero just great.
I've been telling myself I'd upgrade to this new one once my old Gen 1 breaks.
I almost did the upgrade when the adjustment tower o-rings crumbled but, found some new rings and its still trucking.

Don't hate on the brand. Buy it and try it. If not, the scope base it comes with will fit on your sons nerf gun. Not Kidding.

For the price, not bad

Written on Jun 29, 2021

If you bought this and didn't receive a fully functioning Radian Raptor charging handle well, thats on you.
I was being cheap and decided to try this beautiful $30 charging handle as a budget friendly alternative to the Raptor charging handle which, by the way, is worth every penny of its $80 price tag.

But I was being thrifty *cheap*
Stuck this in an Aero Precision enhanced 10.5 upper and ran it as hard as I had ammo for it.

The good: You could be blind and find this charging handle no problem. Its textured and has a very positive grip, especially if you use your knuckle to run your bolt like I do AND have giant hands.

The bad: After repeated use, the right side of the charging handle is floppy. I don't see any bending or wear from use, nor did I use the right side with my right knuckle.
I can say that is doesn't affect the left and more commonly used side of the charging handle.

In summary,
Great alternative to the regular charging handle, especially if you have big hands.
Approach this with high hopes and low expectations. So far I haven't broken it. I know I will. Not sure how long.

Great finish, poor fit and poor hardware

Written on May 31, 2021

This is my first time trying out a Strike Industries part and so far, i'm not impressed.
The magazine catch required a touch of 3000 grit sandpaper before the right side of the catch would even slide in. Poor fit!
Went to screw in the button part of it and it wouldn't fit either. After significant hand-fitting that should be necessary for a Glock magazine catch, I got both to fit together in the Glock frame.
When the two parts are mated together, the catch sticks and allows me to pull a magazine out without having to actuate the catch.

To add to my frustration, the screw that fastens the two parts together stripped out with the supplied allen key.

Great quality parts with the exception of the screw.

WORST FIT i've seen on any aftermarket part.
