I purchased 2 of these back in November 2021 and they have had very minimal use... I want quality when it comes to something I may have to bet my life on...

I went to the range yesterday and upon removing my rifle from the case I observed that the scope had canted... This was extremely odd because this is on my home defense weapon and it sits next to my bed 99% of the time. When I do transport it, I use a case. I treat all my weapons with great care to preserve their accuracy and their value.

The cause of the problem was that the hinge materials had yielded. I did not over torque the bolts. The design is quite good as securing the scope in place and the bolts have Loctite on them from the factory so there is never a need to over torque.

The hinge design is faulty. I see that the LEAP/08 has an updated and clearly more robust hinge configuration from what I was sold.

I hope ScalarWorks stands behind their product and will make this right.

I purchased the ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Laser because of guntuber recommendations. I was replacing a Nightstick LGL-160. The ProTac Rail Mount HL-X Laser was of lower build quality than the Nightstick. It was also bigger and heavier. The end cap has two buttons that allow turning on the light and the laser separately but the pressure plate has only one mode that turns both the laser and the light on at the same time.

I disassembled the ProTac to see if I could use an Arisaka Defense Inline Scout M-LOK Mount but it turned out the clamp is separate from the body of the ProTac and the body isn't drilled or tapped with the correct bolt pattern to make use of the Arisaka. This is also when I realized how cheaply the ProTac is constructed.

Once I had mounted the ProTac it was like having a lead weight on the end of the rifle... I have since replaced the ProTac with a SureFire M640U Scout Light Pro 1000. The SureFire costs more but is MUCH smaller and lighter. The mounting system for the Surefire is strong and compact. The build quality of the SureFire is much better too.

The old saying: "If you buy quality, you only cry once!" absolutely applies with the ProTac.

I purchased this charging handle to replace the standard CH that came with a Sig Rattler. When I attempted to install it, I found that the tip was dimensionally too tall to fit in the channel inside the weapon. I tried it on more than one Rattler with no success.

I also found that the head (tee) was poorly manufactured such that when it is actuated, the mechanism is so stiff that the spring will not return it to the proper position. The spring doesn't seem to be broken but the mechanism is stiff and gritty.

The mount arrived but the package did not include the set of bases pictured in the advertisement. I cannot use the mount due to the lack of the base plates. I cannot find a disclaimer in the literature indicating the base plates are sold separately and the included images clearly indicate they should have been part of the package.
