I purchased the 8.5" upper and a Stern Glock mag adapter together. Check out my review of the adapter elsewhere. The two combined resulted in one the coolest, most fun shooting AR-style platform I've ever owned. The build of upper was tight. Every part torqued just right with no looseness or gaps anywhere. There was practically no seam between the upper and my random, no name AR lower. The finish was smooth without any discernible flaws in the paint/coating. The M-LOK handguard was finished very nicely with no razor sharp edges that you get from cheaply made Asian handguards (you know what I'm talking about) and the picatinny rails lined up perfectly with the upper. I disliked the cuts on the handguard until I realized they are a bunch of "S" for Stern Defense then I thought "okay, that's pretty slick". Charging handle is perfect for one handed racking. Bolt carrier rides very smooth with none of the grittiness you feel with with cheaper bolt carriers. I tested the build with about 400 rounds of UMC and S&B 115 gr FMJ, and 20 rds of Federal JHP at 50 yards on a steel plate. Using a 1.5X ACOG, the gun produced NO MISSES. Even walking up on the plate from 15 to 5 yards in rapid fire (semi-auto...private range) the gun was really controllable with barely any flip. Recoil felt like a 5.56, just lighter. I purchased this mag adapter and the Stern Defense 9mm upper as my first foray into 9mm PCC builds. I plugged the two parts onto a random 5.56 lower, took it to the range, and it was an incredibly fun experience. First of all, installation time was minutes. All tools were provided though the instructions needed more clarity. It did take a while to figure out how to use the mag release but once I realized it worked using an index finger push release OR thumb release a-la-H&K MP5 style, the release became very fast and instinctual to use. The bolt hold open feature is freakin' awesome as it did not change the way I shoot ARs. At 50 yards with a 1.5X ACOG and ETS 32 round mags, I was putting lead on a steel plate for 400 rounds with no failures (although one of my ETS mag springs got bound up and failed to feed). And I was running the gun practically bone dry! The adapter feeds flawlessly with factory Glock mag and Magpul 20 round mags. I also put 20 rounds of hollow points through this and again no problems. The only malfunction was the aforementioned janky ETS mag spring that bound up. Not the adapter's fault. My only complaint is how dirty the gun gets. Definitely disassemble and clean the adapter after shooting. Other than that, three thumbs up for this clever little adapter!

As they say, when something is too good to be true, it usually is. I was astounded at the price for this complete slide kit so I ordered it. I had already installed a Trybe slide from OpticsPlanet on one of my G19 Gen3 and it worked GREAT. So this one must be good also, right? When I installed this slide, I noticed it sat a little too far forward on the G19 Gen3 frame. Same with a Gen2 frame. It fed fine with 9mm snapcaps so off to the range I go. At the range, it failed to load ANY factory ball ammo (SB, American Eagle, UMC). I tried factory and Magpul mags, no dice. When I manually loaded a round into the chamber, it failed to go fully into battery without a shove on the rear of the slide. When I pulled the trigger (with much hesitation), it failed repeatedly to ignite...light strikes on the primer. I tried the Patmos slide with a factory G19 barrel...same results. I didn't go further into investigating the issue because if the slide is the problem, there's no point in wasting any more time. Luckily OP has a great return policy. Guess I will try other slides next.
