I had reached the point as an OG where my eyes could no longer pick up the front site on my 1911’s in certain lighting and backgrounds. I knew it was time for some drastic changes (or hang it up completely). I sold a 1911, bought a Shadow Systems XR920, and after much reasearch put the 507c acss vulcan on it. I chose this model because I knew there would be a learning curve after over 60 years of shooting iron sites… and the setting with the large outer circle (some describe as training wheels) just made sense. I could not be happier with my choice! It did take about three weeks of dry fire work to put all the pieces together…but the large outer circle teaches and assists in correcting inconsistencies in grip, stance, draw stroke, etc. I cannot imagine how difficult this transition would have been on any other unit…I would have driven myself crazy “fishing” for the red dot. My last range outing had me working rapid fire from the draw making head shots from 3 to 25 yards just like the old days! I would highly recommend this model to anyone who is considering another red dot, or thinking about making the change from irons for what ever reason. The features and technology and options are simply amazing. The results I saw in my own shooting made me a believer…and just kept me carrying and shooting for years to come (when all that was questionable). Wish I could show you pictures!!!

I shopped long and hard for an affordable binocular/range finder case that would not cost more than the equipment I was using. My priorities were: had to be quiet, protect gear, lanyard attached to binoculars, comfort and be able to adjust close to chest, not interfere with a rifle or bow shot. The Allen case checked all of these boxes. I recently took them on a four day hunt to south Texas and was very pleased with the way they performed in the field. Those days of binoculars swinging from my neck and banging into my rifle or bow, and digging in my pocket for my rangefinder (dangling from another lanyard) are over! Very happy with my choice and price I paid!
