V7 H 57/90 ambi review

Written on Apr 17, 2026

This selector is probably the lightest on the market currently. The throw is stiffer than a BA bad-a_ _. If you don't care about weight buy the BA. Plus, only buy V7 when on sale $. Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of V7. They make quality stuff. But, this safety selector should have a smother feeling lever for the price point, imo. I still like it, need it for all the weight I can save, on ever part. It's perfect for an ultra light build.

stock loose fit

Written on Apr 12, 2024

This tube is very light weight and good quality finish. Mounts solid to lower r. The fluting looks great with my light weight Faxon heavy fluted 20" bbl. But because of the fluting my MFT minimalist ultra light butt stock fits loosely. A piece of Scotch brand black electrical tape under the butt stock filled the space and now does not wiggle. I'm not sure you can have a fluted or other light weight buffer tube of this kind without a slightly loose fit from b. stock. A non critical compromise for light weight build and easy fix IMO. I give it 4.5 stars.

More texture

I received my grip with stripped nut and bolt. Optics Planet did a great job with a quick and hassle 'FREE' return. Mounted the second one very solid but there is a slight flex at the bend not much. Don't think will be a problem only time and use will tell. I personally would like more texture for non-slip grip. Otherwise looks good sort of like a Thompson smg foregrip.

No special tool

Written on Apr 12, 2024

I have installed these pins in my ultra light gun build and discovered the pivot pin comes with an installation hole already in it. This made installing very easy. The only tool you'll need is a small punch or anything that will fit into the hole to depress the detent and spring while you rotate the pin to capture them. I will purchase this set again for a future build.

Not a complete assembly

This V Seven ultra light td/pivot pin set is really well made. They are aluminum so it is really important to have a very good surface coating like on these V Seven pins. Because your receiver is aluminum there's a slight potential for galling between the two soft metal surfaces. A good surface coating and some lubrication will keep the opposing surfaces from creating any problems. Also take note that this pin set does not come with springs and detents because they are intended to replace and upgrade existing pins. Therefore make sure to order the additional parts if these are used for an original build. These pins are extremely light weight.

Vseven hybrid rt hand selector

Written on Mar 13, 2024

I believe it is called a hybrid because V Seven uses two different materials in the construction, titanium for the core and
aluminum for the small selector handle. I installed this in my Aero Precision M4E1 lower receiver. It was very easy to install even with my disabled hands, due to an illness. It works great and the mil-spec tolerances are tight and the part is light in weight. The only complaint isn't about the V Seven selector but the A.P. M4E1 lower receiver. A.P. makes their M4E1 with a little half circle notch but only on the left side hole of receiver facing the safe position. I believe this is to accommodate some brand of 45 degree selector. The point is that this V Seven selector doesn't quit cover the notch when in the fire position. But does not interfere with the function at all. I would recommend this V Seven selector switch and all their products because although expensive there fit and finish is exceptional. You will be happy with your purchase. Also when doing a light weight build it isn't the weight of the individual part but all the small parts together that saves weight. One more thing while we're talking about safety, the term 'budget build'. That's a fine idea but take your time and do your research use
reputable companies with solid in-spec parts made with the right materials. You don't have to buy fancy parts just don't buy cheap unproven parts. Remember, you're not building a toy but a deadly tool, safety first. OK, enough of that, just had to s

I used this bolt in conjunction with a Brownells titanium bolt carrier and made a 6.5mm grendel bolt carrier group. The JP Enterprises attention to machine finishing makes this a very smooth running bolt inside the carrier. I would recommend this bolt to anyone doing an AR build. I think JP Ent. is one of the top manufacturers with a goal of making smooth and quiet running parts for ARs.
