First off it isn't wide or deep enough. After getting it on there, I had some trouble fitting the 2 mounting screws due to the holes not clearing (depth). 'No worries' I said to myself, 'I'll just grind down the stock a little to make room for the bolts.' Well after that was resolved what do you know, the screws still won't start because now the holes are angled away from each other (Read: not wide enough) . Tried clamping the bottom back together and it broke. Literally broke, like the finest of Chinese pot metals. Don't waste your time.
Let me start by saying if you have an SRS without this mount you are wrong. Half the weight of the Colt knob-style mount and twice the convenience factor. Slim profile with a very firm and positive lock. Highly recommend for anyone using the old knob mount.
I bought this for use with my 1/2-28 WarComp556, couldn't have been happier. Sure it's spendy, but I cannot overstate the quality of the product and ease of use. Loving the fast-attach system; I can throw it on there if there's others around and not be that "one guy" at the range. Personally it's worth the cost to me.
Performs exceedingly well at recoil mitigation and looks fantastic doing it. The brake / flash hider combo is pretty neat. I bought this product for use with other SF attachments and love the ratchet system Saying the installation is easy would be an understatement; It comes with a special tool, shims for timing, and some rockseat. A solid upgrade for any AR.
I picked up this combo for $399.99 and couldn't be happier with it. I proceeded to put the AR-536 onto my 16" carbine, and the first thing I noticed was how clear the glass was. The eye relief bothered me at first, but it isn't too bad after some drilling. It was easy to sight in @ 100yds and took about 10 rounds. The etched reticle is a nice touch as well. I can't vouch for how tough the housing is, as I haven't bashed it into anything yet, however it does seem very well made.
The FastFire3 ended up on my KSG 12ga bullpup shotgun. This too was very easy to dial in. I had my worries at first; I've tried other optics on this particular weapon and it has killed them very quickly from the shock. I believe this to be because the optics mount on the barrel, in front of all the action. ~150 rounds later and it still holds the zero with no problems! Seems like a high quality product that can take reasonable beatings.
I purchased the 2 moa dot / 65 moa circle version for my Kel-Tec KSG, as it's advertised for shotgun use. When the product arrived I was extremely happy with the finish and clarity of the sight picture/ reticle. I had mounted it and proceeded to sight it in; this was easy enough. A few clicks in either direction and I was dead on zero. This was short lived however, and the front lens caved in from the shock of a 12ga prior to 30 rounds or so. Could be a fluke, as it seemed very well made; it could also be the KSG as the sight mounts above the barrel, forward of the bolt and chamber area.
