The magazines do work for an AR 9 PCC but don’t expect it to last and be reliable. Slow fire at the range it works as expected. Rapid fire at a competition and after a few rounds, failure to eject. I would look to go with a dedicated AR9 lower receiver with a built in metal ejector.
The optic itself is decent. Not exactly the best but not the worst I've used either. The field of view is average. The tube/scope shadow around is average. Here are some areas it can be improved on: 1) Illumination dial - it is stiff and does not have off positions in-between so if 1 is too low and 10 is to high, you'll have to slave the stiff dial all the way to 4-6 range. 2) The QD mount - is flimsy and will not hold zero. Even when tighten down, there is only clamping force in the short section onto the rail, you can torque it easily 2-3 MOA left or right. I mounted another RDS aligned the dots as a reference and pushed on the Trybe RDS, with low to moderate pressure it would shift left and right. The mount could use a longer clamp where it interfaces with the rail. I gave it 4 - stars because its a great handy backup RDS that won't break the bank.
Light weight, decent accuracy and I wouldn’t knock in on lack of dimples, You can use a clamp on, or dimple it yourself with a jig. This one is on my lightest firearm and performs. I used it for a class and was pleasantly surprised. I brought a backup but did not need it.
Great barrel for those looking to chamber their MSR in something other than .223/5.56 or .300blk. 7.62x39 is a great round and this barrel is able to really make the round perform. AK’s are known to be inaccurate but on an AR platform with a good barrel you can get some decent results. While ballistics won’t lie, having a barrel like those provided by DEZ Arms helps maximize performance. The carbine length gas system paired with a piston gas block properly cycles the MSR. Paired with other quality parts and its a fun alternative to the more popular calibers.
The MIL reticle FFP is great at max x6 to get you on target. I bought the green reticle and it is big and daylight bright at 1x. Its moderately lightweight and much lighter than some competitors. Great value in the mid range of optics.
As another reviewer mentioned, the BCG is not a full auto. The bolt is slick NP3 coated but the bolt is a black rough likely phosphate, definitely not smooth like a nitride or DLC finish. The charging handle is a basic. And compared to another piston firearm of the same length, using the same ammo, the POF has poor accuracy. I used a pain RDS on the other and a SIG Tango4 1-4 scope on the POF to give it an advantage but man, I could not get a tight group. I’m sure this upper will be very durable but it’s also so dang friggen heavy. And did I mention 2 FTE, the brass casing almost ejected but got slammed into the barrel extension. I’m using an H2 buffer and the piston is in normal mode. I think there are better choices out there.
I purchased two of these for an HK MR556 and MR762. Impressive stability! I will need to investigate drilling holes on the top to help with a small bit of muzzle rise with rapid fire, on the MR762. The downside with all this stability is gas blown back at the shooter.
A nice option for a full length mlok hand guard for an HK MR556. Similar weight as the 9” keymod hand guard. Seems sturdy and fits well but not battle tested. Price is attractive and Made in USA. Slim profile is great for looks, feel and practical for adding mlok attachments without too much bulk.
