You likely got a 226 for the capacity …this is a great way to go 19 rounds up from 16 without all the extra mag hanging out the grip. Never had a failure to feed …well…never had a failure of any kind yet with the 226.
This is a great sealed sight that takes 5 min to install. It’s low profile with no adapter plate, so you save $100+ because you won’t need can sights. Go ahead and get the version that allows you to switch between circle and dot…unless you know you will never change your mind. And dont forget the great Sig warranty.
Perhaps you’ve had the fun experience of adapter plates, batteries on the bottom, boogering up your slide while removing your factory sights for suppressor height and searching for the correct screws. I was really surprised how long it took to mount the x-pro onto a 226 legion…about 5 minutes …including the reading of the directions. It sits low…uses stock sights. So that saves $120…plus the aggravation. Of course, if you are planning to mount a suppressor, this benefit doesn’t count, I suppose. The 226 legion is not a dainty gun to start off with, and the low mounting directly to the slide creates a nice package.
Some people update their Gorucks with Velcro flags…others with IIIA body armor. Most real life situations seem to be a surprise…and if I can’t grab the .45 fast enough, I’ve maybe bought some time with the Premier. Walking in to Aldi’s with a plate carrier causes more problems than it’s likely worth…this is a great option to consider.
Optics planet remains my go to source for stuff like this. Great prices, fast shipping
I mounted this on my m4a1 that is my ‘grab and go’. Storms rolled thru Ohio and the power was out 3 days, so got to test it on a dark night . This lit up the street. Pair this with an Eotech and 5x and you are good to go. The mount allows you to move the light very close to the rails. Not all of us can afford night vision, with this light, you really don’t need it. Make sure you try this out in your house before committing to the light on a weapon designed for inside work…might be too bright for some.
This is advertised as the “easy” version. You will have to remove the 2 shell extension every time, and if you have an H20 version, you will scratch the shell tube up as you fiddle around trying to get this seated, as the pistons and the barrel and the two plastic pieces and the stock all have to be aligned just so. The top is open, and you can see the cylinders so the pistons are exposed to the elements. You can’t mount anything nearest the muzzle as there is not enough clearance for the m-lock screws underneath. The finish is slick so you will likely need some m-lock inserts. You may better off with a CDM Gear ROC-12S Low Profile Light Mount with Built-In Sling Swivel Dock. I’m still looking for the IWC picatinny rail…but the owner died on Feb so not sure if these will ever go back in production. Sometimes it’s just hard to improve on a great original design.
I used a Vism ncstar f & r sight pusher with lots of ballistol on the pusher and sights. Used a Neiko 01407A digital caliper to assure centering. The claim is that they are 30% brighter…this is hard to measure for the amateur. But…grab your Glock 19 and your Masada with new Night Fision suppressor height sights …night Fision is brighter.
And no, I have not put them in a dryer or oven or beat on them with a hammer …I’ll leave that to you …
Next is to add a Trijicon RMR…and if I can edit this review …will report on the co witnessing success
