Great press, requires some assembly

Written on Dec 17, 2024

I have been reloading for about 25 years and used primarily RCBS Rock Chucker and a few LEE Loadmaster progressive presses. They worked, but now my son joined me at the range and we go through way more ammo than in the past, and while I did not mind replacing parts and tuning the LEE presses, the throughput just wasn't what I was looking for. The question was either getting FA X-10 or a Dillon. I liked the 10 stages and that is comes with a case feeder out of the box, so ultimately less expensive than the Dillon. Ordered the X-10 and ran it for about a week now.
- It comes in pieces and requires assembly. Fun and makes you learn, how it works.
- There are a few items that need adjustment (powder measure, case feeder feeding into shell plate, crimp remover and primer seating pin)
- It so far worked really well with zero problems - I get to about 600 rounds/hr in 9mm with manual bullet feeding.
- Almost everything you need (besides components, shell plate) is included to get you started

- The paint chips off in several areas and Frankford Arsenal does not care "cosmetic, not functional, no warranty". So rust prevention/protection is not a function of the paint. Utterly pathetic, poorest quality control (and a problem they are aware of!!!) - well, you get what you pay for.
- Shell plates need to be ordered extra and are about $65 each.
- Changing calibers is a lot of work and unscrewing almost everything - not sure, if that is worth it.

Bottom line, a huge step up from t

Not working, Feeding issues, flipped primers

Written on Dec 15, 2024

A completely useless piece of s... It does not feed correctly, constantly gets primers not feeding into the tube, or even worse, feeding primers upside down. Also, there is no way to either directly fill the standard pickup tubes, only the provided tubes will fit the device - which does not really matter as even those don't work.
I personally really like and enjoy a lot of Frankford Arsenal products (including the X-10), we tumbler, calipers etc., but this is useless engineering produced with Chinese tolerances.
I suggest, you continue the manual pickup - it is less time consuming and wayyyy less frustrating!

1st one defective, 2nd one works o.k.

The first one I got would not lock the selector switch in position and Fostech's support was rather pathetic - I don't have the feeling that there is a lot of QA going on or that they stand behind their products. After several calls with OP, I got a replacement. Installed it and it works as designed. Yes, pretty fast rate of fire, but a bumpfire stock is wayyy faster. This trigger is a rather useless gimmick and I would not invest in it again - maybe I would try a different binary trigger, but I doubt that I would buy Fostech again.

Just colored prints

Written on Dec 26, 2022

For that kind of money, you would expect the "easy see" kind of targets, but these are solely color prints on a paper size that you could print it at home with your laser printer. Not impressed and I will for sure not spend over $1 on a single piece of paper with an o.k. printout on it. Absolutely not worth the money.

Easy installation, accurate

Written on Dec 26, 2022

I installed it in my P320 in less than 5 minutes, another 2 minutes to get the suppressor installed and it works really well. Accurate, well built and I would buy it again without hesitation. If you are looking to suppress your P320, this is a good choice.

Worst quality you can buy. DON'T !!

Written on Dec 26, 2022

Within the last 2 years, I went through 2 of these, first one under warranty, failed after 3 months (on a 9mm pistol). The replacement made it almost 9 months before it stopped working. Probably took it out to the range 15 times.
What a pathetic quality and complete waste of money. Having two failures in a row, clearly shows me that this is the quality one can expect from this Chinese company.

Total junk - lasted about six trips to the range before falling apart

Written on Jun 18, 2022

It was nice while it was still together, however, after about six trips to the range, it completely fell apart. The screws or bolts that hold the side arms in place, fell off, the springs disappeared into nowhere and that whole thing is completely useless now.
Terrible quality - I would at least expect the screws/bolts to be designed to last "forever" - having this thing literally fall apart is 100% unacceptable and something I would expect from a $5 charging handle from China. For being "Made in the USA", this is a pure disgrace to our manufacturing.
