Does not fit properly
Written on Feb 11, 2020
I was excited to get these +3 basepads for my 15 rd mags for my p320.
Unfortunately, they do not fit properly, rendering them useless.
The problem lies in the shape of the ‘tab’ along the sides of the basepad, that needs to fit into the matching ‘slot’ on the p320 magazine well.
The angle of the posterior edge of this tab is very very slightly too vertical. You can feel this oversize edge engage when inserting the magazine. It will insert fully, and the gun will fire the entire magazine properly.
BUT the tension created by the interface / abutment of the magazine basepad tab on the posterior surface of the magwell slot prevents the magazine from dropping free when the mag release is depressed. The magazine must be stripped out manually.
This renders this otherwise nice looking +3 basepad totally useless, certainly for competitive shooters and concealed carriers.
I have emailed Hyve about this issue, and even sent them pictures. So far their response has been ‘There’s not a problem’. I have offered to send them videos.

Nice upgrade

Review for
Luth-AR The Paddle Oversize Bolt Catch Assy
I love this Luth-AR bolt catch - just enough oversize to speed up / improve engagement during mag changes and malfunction clearance. I'm adding them to all my ARs; hoping they'll make an AR-10 compatible version.
This is a much better solution than the BAD lever and similar products, which take up room in the trigger guard and generally get in the way.

Fine trigger
Written on Apr 28, 2019
This is a fine trigger, definitely a big step up from a mil-spec trigger. Unfortunately, I've been spoiled by pricier triggers from Geissele, and while a good trigger, imo this is still a step below that. Much less harsh and gritty than mil-spec, but definitely can feel a little grit, especially on reset, as compared to a Geissele SSA, for example. The POF is still a step up from the ALG Combat trigger (also a nice upgrade from mil-spec, about half the price of the POF, but you get more from the POF at the higher price point. All about your budget for a trigger.
