Even without a suppressor this is worth it

I bought this barrel because I finally started the process to get myself a rimfire suppressor. I installed it in 2 minutes, and then remembered that I still had a knurled thread protector sitting around in one of my many boxes o' parts. I found that and put it on, and suddenly my little .22 giggle pistol looked kind of tough. I haven't shot out of it yet, but I'm really looking forward to it. Only downside is that it does make it a bit fussy to field strip the pistol due to having to take the adapter off and replacing it with the low profile thread protector back on to prevent messing up the threads when disassembling.

I just couldn't live with it

I have 3 10-rd Ruger factory magazines. I installed these on 2 of them. I was totally prepared for the fact that my magazines would be slightly harder to load due to the elimination of the loading button, but what I was not prepared for was the fact that my bolt would no longer lock back on an empty magazine once the new base pads were installed. I double-checked with my remaining unaltered factory magazine, and it still locked the bolt back on empty as expected. Because there was now also a pretty significant gap between the base pad and the frame of the pistol, as well as the fact that it totally threw off the grip of my support hand, I decided to remove them and return them before I tried actually shooting out of them.
