Athlon Argos 8-34x56 Mil Reticle Scope
Written on Oct 14, 2025
This is my second Athlon scope in the Argos family of scopes. My first Athlon Argos was a Gen2 6-24x50 scope I used for competing in a 100 yard competition. I am now competing at 300 yards and needed a little more scope. The Gen3 Athlon Argos 8-34x56 seems to fit the bill for this distance.
I like the improvements between the Gen 2 and Gen 3 such as the built-in throw lever on the magnification dial and the gnarled dials on the parallax and fast focus rings over the Gen 2 model. The parallax will allow for a 25 yard zero out to infinity. Full disclosure, I haven't tried to zero at infinity yet. The scopes glass is clear on the Argos 8-34x56 with no edge gray-out even at full magnification.
My new Gen3 Argos 8-34x56 came with objective and ocular end scope caps and a sunshade which was an unexpected surprise. Now the only reason I can’t consistently hit the 10 ring at 300 yards is pilot error, not the scope.
