Good solid optic.

Written on Jan 31, 2020

Needless to say I am very impressed with the performance of this optic. I mounted mine on an AR platform chambered for .458SOCOM. It stood up to the heavy recoil of the .458....No problem. It never lost zero.I bought the HS402C model. The one with the solar panel. While shooting at my local indoor range, the battery tray popped out. I didn't tighten the screws (my mistake) Even with no battery in it and with only the range lights, I still had a usable red dot to keep shooting accurately, just from the power of the solar panel output.

Needed rifle stock storage pouch.

Written on Aug 22, 2016

I needed a storage pouch for the auxiliary battery pack for my ATN X sight. This fit the bill perfectly. I installed this pouch on my Savage Axis .308 rifle. It was easy to install and does not move around. Very secure. Seems to be well made. The cheek rest is comfortable.

What the product description doesn't tell you.

The product description doesn't do this light justice. This light is very versatile. This light has a 4 position control switch. Off, On, Dusk, Motion. The On/Off is pretty much self explanatory. Set the switch to Dusk and light will come on at dusk and stay on continuously. Set the switch to motion and the light will be motion activated.( I use this setting the most). There is no sensitivity adjustment for the motion sensor.
Also, this light has a two level light intensity switch, High and Low.( I keep it on the low setting.)
The battery compartment has two covers and both are secured by two small Phillip head screws(easy to loose)
This light makes an ideal night light for your cabin or campsite. Set it to "motion". If you get up in the middle of the night, the motion sensor will turn the light on.

I was skeptical at first.

This light works very well. I hunt feral hogs at night here in south Florida. I usually hunt over bait. I use a night vision sight on my rifle. As you may know, night vision sights "eat" batteries. During the night time hunt, I would conserve my night vision scope batteries by keeping the sight turned off and then occasionally turning on the sight to see if there were any feral pigs at the bait. Even doing this, the batteries would still be depleted after a few hours.
Now I use this light as an "alert" system. I strap it to a tree or stake near the bait. When the pigs come in to feed, the light switches "on", thereby alerting me that pigs are at the bait.
The feral pigs do not seem to be bothered, too much, by this light and continue to feed on the bait. Too bad for them!
The batteries last a long time. I don't really know how long, because I haven't had to replace them yet. I have close to 20 hrs of use on this set of batteries.
