I had already settled on CCI SubSonic .22 ammo. It's inexpensive, widely available and reasonably consistent. I had mounted Vortex 6-9X35 on the rifle and immediately wanted more power. My eyes required it. I bought FFP not knowing how much better it would be. Zeroed at 50 yards to save ammo. Proved unnecessary. Dialed POA right in to dead on at 50 yards. Moved to 100 yards and POA was 6.5" low. No wind that day and no windage correction needed. Dialed in 26 clicks up (1/4" per click) and HIT THE CENTER OF THE BULL!
Shot at 24" gong at 200 using sub tension lines. Hit the gong 6 out of 10 rounds. The wait to hear the noise was excruciating but sweet.
Why did I wait until I was 75 years old to do this with a .22? Probably didn't think the equipment and I could do it. OPCON scope looks great in grey. Used Wheeler rings with tiny level.
