Timney AR PCC trigger for MPX

Written on Jun 05, 2024

I use a Gen II Sig MPX in competition shooting. I started with the stock Sig Trigger, which is terrible, quickly switched to a Geissele trigger, which finally broke after a couple years and many rounds, tried a CMC, which broke rather quickly, and now the Timney. The MPX is very hard on triggers. The gas system slams the hammer back with a lot of force and breaks triggers. Timney is the only trigger I know of that accounts for this. The trigger has a "block" behind the hammer that cushions the hammer slamming back. The other triggers I tried don't have this. Timney also has a rather clever way of locking the trigger and hammer spring pins in place with a couple of set screws. Trigger pull is right around 2 1/2 lbs, very crisp, and as good as Geissele or CMC. When I bought this trigger, Timney had two: The 'MPX' trigger and the AR PCC trigger. According to Timney the difference is (only) pull weight. The MPX trigger has a 4+ lbs trigger pull. Otherwise, the triggers are identical. Also, the Timney is a drop-in unit. Installation is simple.
