Solid, inexpensive gloves.

Written on Jan 01, 2016

Pretty decent set of gloves, originally got them because they reminded me of the pair I had while was I was deployed, but they have become a pretty regular part of my range gear. No frills, nothing silly or super "tacticool" about them. Construction is good, durability seems to be fine (no loose threads unraveling, no seams busting) for now, gonna really but them more through their paces come warmer weather and the opportunity to really use them hard. They even do ok keeping your hands warm, so long as you use some common sense and don't expect them to keep your digits toasty past the low 20's. They're hand and knuckle protective gear, not really cold weather gear.

Great sight, decent price.

I ordered the Meprolight Walther P99 Tru-Dot front and rear sights for my Walther PPQM2. The rear sight needed just a hair of hand fitting with a file to slide into the rear sight slot, but nothing too major, really just a few light strokes. The front sight was slightly more annoying, mostly due to the odd little screw that accompanied it. The head of said screw is flat, and honestly meant for a driver of some sort, but the spacing in the recess of the slide is far too narrow to allow the use of one (at least on the PPQM2, pretty sure on a P99 it would not be an issue at all.). After combing my local hardware and firearm stores and being unable to find a replacement screw, I applied some red Loctite to the threads, and had an amusing, if somewhat aggravating go at it with a pair of angled nose tweezers. Surprisingly, it worked like a charm. The front sight seems to be set there as solid as you could hope for after running a couple hundred or so rounds through the pistol, and the rear sights were just as adjustable and easy to pick up as the factory OEM sights, with the added bonus of being able to use them in low-light conditions. If I would change anything about the sights, I would very much like it if the front sight was drilled/tapped to the same dimensions as the factory OEM front sight so as to be able to use the hex-head screw that it ships with.
