Solid barrel nut but....

Written on Feb 10, 2019

It is a very solid barrel nut. Had to use it due to the aero handguard I purchased. The nut is solid and hold well but only comes with 4 shims (they are not labeled). I had to purchase a shims kit to complete the installation. There are only 4 gas tube holes on the nut. You have to be careful when installing not to scratch the finish (the wrench slipped) as I did. No one else can see it but I know it's there.

Best brake I have found

Written on Dec 09, 2018

This is the 3rd ZRO brake I have purchased. The 6.5 was the 1st. Can basicly watch the hole appear in the paper at the range. Lead me to get the 1st 223 and now the 2nd 223. I have tried brakes from most of the major companies and the ZRO beats them all.

One of the best

Written on Nov 11, 2018

Love the look and the light weight of this dust cover. Added bonus is that it has the port door rod built in. It can be removed if needed and reinstalled very easily. I have 3 if them and plan on replacing the metal covers on my other ARs as well.

Solid handguard

Written on Oct 20, 2018

I used this on a new 458 SOCOM build. It’s a really nice handguard. Love the way it "wraps" around the top of the upper. The finish is perfect. Only issue is that you have to use the Aero barrel nut and it only has 4 gas tub holes. I had to order a shim kit as I could not get the correct torque with the ones in the kit.

Great buget Learner scope.

Written on Aug 14, 2018

A good scope for teaching a new shooter or a plinking setup. I installed on a Ruger Precision 22. Using it to teach my daughter to use a scope. The glass is clear and it works well out to 100 yrds. She like the ablity to change the colors.

Nedded front sight

Written on Jun 24, 2018

Works well. Wanted flip up sights on a buget .223 pistol I was building. I have a rear one and wanted the matched set. Works as it should. Once sighted in (with the back one) has not moved. Noticed no walking or movement after firing and flipping up and down a few times.

Nice mount

Written on Jun 08, 2018

Like the fit and finish if this connector. No machining marks or flaws. Like the low profile and it feels very solid. The QD sling connection is firm, it does not wiggle around like some. I have always been impressed with UTG and this is no different.

Best crush washers

Written on May 30, 2018

Tried these on the last two builds I did (.556 and 6.5). Easier to set the timing of the muzzle treatments. Also i don't have to worry about the direction of the washer when installing and they self center. Best crush washers I have found.

Terffic grip

Written on Apr 08, 2018

One of the most comfortable grips I have used. The rubber is firm but not overly hard like others. Very slip resistant with out the grip tape. Rock solid with it. Like the way it alinged my hand with the gun and trigger. Fit perfectly on my Ruger Precision.

Great option over a 3x

Written on Nov 02, 2017

I have tried a number of magnifiers for my AR. I run a Trijicon MRO and have been using a Vortex 3MX-3T and just wanted a little more. Tried Primary Arms 6x and was disappointed. I have another Athlon scope and thought why not. I am very happy. Clear glass and the 5x is noticable over the 3x I was using. The mount is solid and easy to move to the side by pulling back. Only issue is a slight comet effect (noticed by others as well). This can mostly be resolved from check placement and making sure you eye relief is correct. I have seen the same comet effect on other magnifiers so not a big issue.
