Great Quality Rings!

Written on Feb 22, 2021

These Hawkins Long Range Hybrid Rings are awesome. You can tell that they are of a very high quality just by holding and mounting them. I have been using Talleys on most of my rifles for years but have been transitioning into these Hawkins Long Range Rings as they become available. For what it’s worth, I had purchased these .5 Lows for a Christensen Arms Ridgeline with a Nightforce NX8 4-32x50 Scope. Not to discredit the other review but the lows just did not work on the Nightforce. The scope would hit my barrel unless ran farther ahead then necessary (Everything was mounted and torqued accordingly.) Even when ran farther ahead the gap between the bell and the barrel was just way to tight to be comfortable. When I placed my Zeiss V4 6-24x50 I had no problems and was able to have the scope mounted where was needed for proper eye relief, with a perfect gap between scope and barrel. I believe this is due to the metal of the Nightforce bell being manufactured much thicker then that of the Zeiss scope. I ended up returning the rings and going with .6 Highs for the NX8 with much better results. Similar gap to the Medium Talleys I had on the rifle before and able to properly mount the scope for eye relief. So purchase with caution depending on what scope and size of barrel is used on your rifle or build. I would recommend the .6 Highs for a Christensen Arms Ridgeline and Nightforce NX8.
