Vortex Viper HD 20-60x85mm Spotting Scope
Terrific scope: bright, clear, very well made.
The built-in retractable sun shade was a nice surprise.
I’m using it for 1,000 yard rifle shooting, the .30 cal holes are easily seen.
Would be interested in hearing what hard-sided cases people are using to transport theirs.

Surprisingly good

Put this on a Ruger Redhawk 7.5” .44 magnum revolver.
Surprisingly good to 5-6X, eye relief was very narrow at 7X.
Clear & bright, nice reticle, ability to go from 2-7X is super handy - even at 2X it’s a big benefit over iron sights.
I’ve shot DA rapid fire at 35’ while on 2X, easy to acquire the sight picture for follow-up sights.
Can see this being ideal for handgun hunting.

Very good for the money

Excellent scope for $300.
It’s on my Rem 700 .308, shoots great out to 400 yards (my range’s limit).
Of course you can pay many times the price and get a scope superior in every way but so what else is new. :)
