This and their more expensive version with the steel QD tube are the best endplates for the AR, IMO. Having a sling QD abrading your thumb web gets annoying pretty quick and these extended end plates are the perfect answer. I put these on all my builds. This one if splitting hairs about weight (no steel QD tube) and the other with the side QD points if not nitpicking weight. The other has a better castle nut too, which brings me to the reason it gets 4 stars. The fork tines they designed on the end of the castle nut are just as sharp as they look and waiting to hang up on your clothing/sling/whatever at any opportunity. When I buy these, I buy a separate castle nut. Anyone who wants some oversize castle nuts sharp enough to cut you open is welcome to the few that are in my "no bueno" parts box.
Not sure if these are actually for 1/2-28 or what, but they don't even come close to fitting 5/8-24. Doesn't even get over the end of my taper adapter, much less make it to the threads it would still have to clear to reach the taper.
Don't waste your time with more expensive options. Light weight. Durable (not surprisingly, given who made em). Easy, convenient, fast adjustments. Both legs can be deployed from folded position with just a swipe of the hand. Good height range. And it comes in FDE. What more could you want? Pair the picatinny version with KDG Kinekt for rapid QD Mlok disconnect. Keep it in your pocket and slap it anywhere on the rail with one second convenience. This makes it good for multiple guns. Have open Mlok slots on the guns in the right place and switch it between them in a couple seconds. By far the lightest option when set up this way, because you can just leave it off the gun until you need it. Pull it out of a pocket, slap it onto the rail and deploy both legs in the time that the other guy is still fiddling with the first leg of his competing product that weighs more and requires tools to get on and off.
Have these installed on several rifles. HiperFire compatible. Love em. Feels a bit different from most other levers, but I'm good with it. Have had issues with others, crunchy actuation, trigger incompatible, etc. Not these. They're good to go, and pretty to boot.
Cool mechanism. Feels very clean in actuation. Locks positively and will definitely unlock any way you yank on it. Has sharp square surfaces that will pinch an ungloved finger on the inside of the non-latching side (other side too, but latch keeps skin off of those). Pretty sure I can fix it with a needle file. But for the price, I don't expect to be filing things...
