I bought this to train with my AR-15 for A4 post and rear sight use. We have this sight on M4’s that we shoot with for competitions in the Army guard. My only complaint is the sight picture at 100 yards is super small. It’s just how it works though.
This is a great upper. Super light weight and pairs well with an Aero lower. I put this on an Aero I’m going to hunt with. The hand guard is about double the size of the Atlas model. Price on OP was cheaper than any other website I could find. I’ve always had great product with anything Aero Precision.
This scope is so much bang for the buck. Pair it with a Sniper Hog light 68lrx or coyote cannon and you’ll be hunting night predators I no time. I prefer the 3x14 over my 5x20 because the bigger field of view is more reliable.
This thing is great. Be sure when you get replacement batteries to get the 3 volt CR2’s the standard 3.7 volt will not work. I put this thing on my 5 x 20 4K and have downed 6 coyotes in the last few months. 1 was at least a 500 yard shot. One click puts crosshairs on point. I’ll be getting another for my 300 black out set up.
I got this mount for my AR-10. I wanted to have the ability to switch the scope to my AR-15 later on. I’m running a 5x20 X sight 4K pro. The first mount I got 2 of the scope ring screws stripped at 12” lbs on my torque screw driver. I have a Husky brand torque screw driver. I figured that maybe some one did it and sent it back saying nothing was wrong. Optics Planet sent me another one after they got tracking on the return label. I read that some folks used blue loctite on the scope ring screws to prevent stripping. I mounted up the second mount w/ blue loctite on scope ring screws and QD nuts. I set torque screw driver to 12” lbs again. Everything went together fine. I increased it to 15” lbs and no problem. From what I’ve read this is the way to go with this mount. We will see what happens when I zero it and put some rounds through it. I’m giving it a 3 because foul on ATN for not putting some torque values. If you buy this mount be EXTREMELY careful w/ torque on scope rings.
I purchased this product thinking being able to switch between rifles would be great. I set everything up to mount it on my AR-10. I set my torque screw driver to 10" lbs just to get a base. 2 screws stripped immediately. I sent that mount back to Optics Planet and I'm waiting for a replacement. Although now I have mounted my scope with the rings that come with the scope. I was able to torque those screws to 16" lbs no problem. I also sighted in the gun the other day so I may not even use the replacement. My friend also bought this mount for his set up and had the same problem. Be careful buying this thing. It's a great concept, but ATN R&D needs to get screw mounts on par w/ the mounts provided with scopes.
