Not normally the type to install a foregrip, I found this an excellent choice for a pistol carbine. Gives your fingers a place to index and ensures they stay out of no-no places. Black model is more "dust black" or phosphate color than "polished black". Works for me.

I am a huge fan of UTG, especially since moving production to my home state for their high end line parts. Always good value for your money.

The safety lever is good, fasteners are high grade and wont strip. Even the tool provided is better than expected. The actuation force is far too high, it takes both hands just to switch it. I installed on multiple guns, with different grips and receivers.

The issue lies purely with the the spring and soft detent. The spring is far too stiff and should never have been sold with this otherwise wonderful product. The detent was visibly scarred and burred from the 30+ cycles I completed testing it out. I switched to my PSA, BCM, and several random safety springs and detent pairs and they all felt great. The included UTG spring and detent are unacceptable out of the box.

I had to cut 3 coils off of the spring to achieve smooth operation with the stock parts, this is not suggested on a safety component. I removed the spring and detent and installed some used PSA set to give me peace of mind.

Installed on an AR15 with a LPVO, so a dual clamp style scope was not wanted or needed. The scope mount goes on fast and the repeat-ability of installation is excellent thanks to the fine machining work. For long range precision shooting go for a dual clamp mount instead, but for low power optics this cant be beat. Wish I bought a second one before they stopped making them.
