One review sited having to disassemble the shoe for installation as a negative. Actually while the instructions are spotty at best beging able to disassemble the shoe is an advantage as you don't have to guess where the pin inserts into the trigger bar. The tricky part is understanding how to insert the spring and get it to lock in, but it isn't that difficulty. It just takes a bit of dexterity.
Adjusting over-travel is a matter of taking as much of the overtravel out as you can while maintaining a CLEAN break. Pre-travel can be more sensitive because you don't want to take so much out as to have the trigger bar begin to engage the safety plunger in the slide. Just leave enough pre-travel in the shoe so that it has SOME travel before hitting the wall and the break. With both pre and overtravel adjustments you can shorten the stroke quite a bit, so use common sense to make sure you don't put your weapon in a situation where it might fire before you intend it to.
One of the pros of the shoe itself is the contour. It is probably what the Glock OEM shoe should have been.
These sights are highly over-rated and over-price. If you're looking for daytime sights anything will work. And yes, the fiber optic will glow, but they only do so when the light is straight from overhead. The tritium vials, claimed to be "brighter" than the competition can really only be seen in near pitch black. The orange ring on the front sight looks nice in the photo but you can hardly see it in anything other than bright light unlike some of the competitors front sights where the rings glow in the dark from light charging. In other words, if you're in "in-between" light as in a dim hallway you might as well be using flat black iron sights. If you're lucky to get a sihoutte in the dim light you might be able to use these sights to aim. Otherwise you're pretty much out of luck.
Pehaps the issue is the tritium glows through the fiber optic, and it that's the case the fiber optic probably kills off a lot of the tritium's brightness. Consequently it's a bad design and straight tritium or straight fiber optic would be better.
I didn't realize how bad they were until I compared them with a buddy's Ameriglo sights which were 50% brighter by estimate. I only realized the issues after the Optics Planet return period had expired. I contacted Truglo on March 25, 2021 and it took them until April 30th to respond.
I'm mad at myself because I spent a lot of money for "features" that didn't live up to the hype when i could have had better for half the price. Tritium and fib
I was looking for a decent safe to store my hand guns and didn’t want to break the bank when I finally purchased one. Some of the bigger brand names have major security issues in bulldog, asthey specialize in firearm stuff seem to be a reliable brand. The personalized code was easy to set up and they included mounting hardware to secure it. When optics planet decided to close this model out the price was right and I jumped on it. With the closeout pricing the safe trumped everything else in its class.
These are your basic striker spring cups for your Glock pistol. If you’ve ever removed or replaced your striker spring you know these small little buggers can go flying across the room without warning. They are small and easily lost and if you lose one of them you’re not going to shoot again until you get a replacement. They are cheap enough that you should have a spare set on hand just because. As the saying goes, “it’s better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it“.
After a lot of research I finally decided to buy these TFX pro sites for my 43X. I received them today and I installed them immediately. Installation went as expected without any issues and I had an opportunity to test them at the range. I never owned a set of night sights before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The tritium close enough to pick them up in dark light but it seems like the fiber optic needs some real light to get them going. They weren’t quite as bright as I expected, but they were sufficiently bright enough. I really like the U notch rear and the front blade is neither too wide nor too narrow. One of my major complaints with the OEM Glock sites is that the front blade was too wide for decent target work. But I suppose they were designed more for pure defense. They are constructed well and I installed them by drifting them in with a nylon punch with no incidents. Based on a single day’s experience I would buy these again.
